You could say I sort of jumped in with both feet. I've been using some little Kanger ego style batts with little clearo type tanks and what not (my most recent adventures was into CE5s, awesome btw). So I walked into my local vape shop looking for one of those little attys, you know the sort, that you used to use with those waaaaay old school carts. I ordered some from ECblends, but I hate waiting (and they only had standard res, so I'm probably going to feel pretty meh about them anyway). Some people use them to drip. I was going to try it again (I used to drip), and they didn't have any. What they did have was a plethora of rebuildable attys. Well my interest was peeked to say the least.

So....I dropped about $170 on a whole new mechanical mod set up, batteries, charger, and the atty, and what I'd need to rebuild. Then I went to Harbor Freight for a cheap multimeter. I figured, my batteries are old and on their way out, just based on how they're acting. And if I'm going to have to spend a good chunk of change on a handful of new egos, why not get something infinitely more awesome? I could have gotten it cheaper online, but again, I really hate waiting, and I like to support small businesses.

I ended up with a Kylin mod (it's telescopic and probably a clone, but what do I know?) and an Igo-w atty. I had some trouble at first. I couldn't get it to work, and the battery was charged. After fiddling with it for a bit, I finally got it. Apparently it has to be screwed together just right, which I should have realized just by the design

Anyway, thanks to the internet, my second atty build was completely successful (the first time I made the coils too big). Duel coil! And I'm vaping away. This is awesome. Way more awesome than my Kangers. Why didn't I do this before? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's hardly my first gadget. I had a Volcano Lava Tube for a while, but then it started leaking and I fried the computer  Shouldn't happen with this set up. Mechanical :D No computer :2cool:

So I loaded her up, soaked the wicks with 12 mg juice and....holy crap. I shouldn't have done that! The lady who sold me the set up did try to warn me. But I took that as more of a challenge accepted. Well I about vaped my face off. 6mg for this set up from now on.

What Ohm build did you make and what kind of batteries did you get? Any pictures of your build? :2cool:

The batteries are MNKE and a Sony. Both 18650s. The MNKE is 1500 mAH. The Sony is....2100 mAH I think? The battery doesn't say. I found out by googling the number on it. The vape expert said the Sonys were awesome, but she only had one left, and that's how I ended up with an MNKE as well (which I hear good things about?).

As for OHMs I'm reading 2.5 on one coil, and 2.8 on the other. Minus the 1.5 that my cheep multimeter is reading when zeroed out (but I know it's working minus the zero, because it read my battery current correctly), I'm getting in the 1-1.3 OHM area. Which is fine by me. I wasn't intending to build anything sub-OHM. At least not yet LOL. In fact, I'm probably going to aim a bit higher for a build tomorrow.

No pictures yet. It's too dark outside and my lighting is bad. Perhaps tomorrow.

Okay, pictures! It's nothing fancy though. My mod and atty build. 28 gauge wire and cotton wicks. It's not perfect and pretty, but I'm just starting out. The important thing is no shorts, and a resistance that is compatible with my battery lol.

Just to confirm.
You are running dual coils.
Each coil is metering out to ~1-1.3 Ω so your final resistance is about .5-.65Ω. You are and have been sub ohm since you started.

Watch your speed mr jones.

This.

You should get a cheap Ω meter on eBay so you can more accurately meter your builds. They can be had for about $15-$20. You'll also want to try and make the coils as close in resistance as possible. A .3Ω difference is pretty significant.

Well I got them both at 2 today. Which makes me a bit more comfortable. Last night I just did a quick build and test. I didn't know about dividing by the number of coils, but based on my batteries, that's still a fairly safe area to be in. Just not necessarily an area I want to be in. Big clouds do nothing for me; I like throat hit. Also my juices are gunking fast even at 1. I think I might back it off to single coils for the time being until I get this figured out a little better. I didn't buy a rebuildable for subohms, I did it because it's cool, and for economy lol.

Thanks for the tips though. I may get a subohm reader. I have a feeling the fiddlyness of this multi is going to make me nuts eventually. It requires patients and a very steady hand.
