*I tried to post this last night, but evidently I missed the part in the rules about not being able to post email correspondences. So unfortunately I cant post what was actually said, only what I was told.
I have been accumulating battery information over the last few weeks for my blog, in order to come up with a comprehensive accurate guide regarding battery discharge ratings.
Of course shortly after posting it, I finally got a reply from efest.
They have indicated that the minimum C-rating of any of their red IMR batteries is 8C.
Unfortunately they did not give me the exact ratings that I asked for, simple stating that they were in the range of 8-10C.
This means that the Efest IMR 18650 2000 mah actually has a discharge rating of at least 16A, as opposed to the frequently cited 10A. I suspect that the rating is actually 10C for this battery, as advertised on smoktech, a retailer for efest linked on their website, which would mean the battery actually has a rating of 20A.
