Hi all,

Got my VK in the mail yesterday morning and so far its been an interesting experience. I noticed myself getting anxious about quitting smoking while waiting for my start kit. I was feeling a bit of remorse over leaving analog cigarettes behind. It was almost like I was mentally sabotaging myself in order to have an excuse to keep on smoking the poisonous analogs. Either way I was committed to making a real effort to quit analog cigarettes so I kept a very open mind.

So far I've been vaping for about 28 hours and have only smoked four analog cigarettes! Amazing! The only reason I smoked those four cigarettes was to compare traditional smoking with vaping. The first hurdle I had to overcome was the taste of E-cigs. They do not taste like traditional cigarettes but they mimic them (in the smoke department) just enough to satisfy and replace analogs without any serious mental anguish.

And that's the key...Any inhibitions about E-cigs/Vaporizing comes from mental fears and years of deeply ingrained habit. At first I disliked the taste but was willing to put up with it in the hopes that I would get used to it. Since then (28 hours later) I'm finally starting to enjoy the taste. When I attempt to smoke an analog cigarette I just don't want to smoke it! It does begin to taste foul after smoking/vaping for a little while.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is give them a chance. Allow yourself to get used to them and everything will go well for you. Any problems with taste will eventually work itself out. Analog cigarettes tasted like .... the first time I smoked them but after continual use I acquired a taste for them. The same thing is true concerning e-cigs (though they don't taste as bad as I let on). Give them a fair shake and you'll be well on your way to quitting those nasty, smelly, destructive analog cigarettes.

I'm really shocked that in less then two days I'm already off analog cigs. And I've been smoking since I was twelve years old! I smoke (or used to up until yesterday!) 2 packs a day, sometimes more, rarely any less and it is a miracle that I have stopped smoking them in such a short span of time! Reader beware: If you haven't received or haven't ordered a PV yet I wouldn't spend too much time on this forum. All of the talk about smoking tends to make you smoke a lot more! I found myself sucking down analog cigs like crazy while I was researching PVs.

All in all PVs are the way to go if you're looking for a surefire way to quit smoking. My experience with Vapor4Life.com was very good overall. I could nitpick and talk about a mistake they made concerning my order but it wouldn't be fair considering how they stepped up and fixed things (Free merchandise always heals a wounded hand! :)). I'd feel good ordering from them again without any reservations. As it stand right now I'm very happy with my vaporizing experience.

thanks.

That being said, I love love love the taste of my Marlboro reds. So I smoke about 2 or 3 a day. Thats way way better than a pack a day, and I'm happy with that. I'm still kinda new to vaping. off and on for a year now. I still don't know what a 901 or 501 or ggts's are. All i know is vapor king is really great service wise. I'm glad you came about when you did. We are currently fighting battles over the legality of e cigs and are holding strong. Just keep at it and look up Leaford, BigJimW, and Ecigreview on youtube. They're great guys and have good honest opinions. Beware of big jim's sailor mouth around the kids though. Happy vaping!

These stories are great - it reminds me of my first day!

Am I understanding you correctly Laz, that two days later you are analog free? If so, big congratulations are in order!

The vapor does have a distinct taste at first. Sort of a sweetish undertone that is consistent from one flavor to another. It only took me a day or two to get used to it, after that, the flavors all tasted like FLAVORS.

WORD OF ADVICE: Don't make huge buying decisions based on the first day's flavor samplings. It often takes some time to really get the TRUE flavor. The carts sort of "break in", and give the best flavor right in the middle of being brand new and completely spent. Add to that the fact that your taste buds will change as you get further away from analogs. What tastes like .... today may taste better tomorrow, and stuff that suits you fine today might not be so good after awhile.

Enjoy the ride Laz, it just gets better with each passing day!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Very true. I'm noticing what I didn't like yesterday I'm liking a bit more today. I bought 30ml of 555 based on so many positive reviews and when I vaped it for the first time I really didn't care for it. I was a bit upset because that 30ml bottle of 555 was supposed to be my cushion while learning what other flavors I liked. I thought I was out $12.50 and would have to chalk it up as a loss. But the more I vape it the more I'm getting to like it. When I tasted Cowboy I was disappointed but now I like it very much.

In the first minutes/hours of vaping I really liked Kamel but now I find myself not liking it so much. This is a very odd experience to say the least! I really like the Green Tea even though there is very little throat hit. The most tobacco-like cart/flavor I have tried thus far is French Pipe. It genuinely feels like you're smoking a pipe full of fine tobacco. I can't wait to try the Kant and the Cuban Cigar!

God bless everyone!

Welcome aboard Laz! I gave up analogs the moment I took my first pull off my cowboy flavored cartomizer. I haven't touched an analog since. In just two days though, my taste changed, and I couldn't touch the cowboy anymore. It's a great ride through all the flavors! I have found that I really like the menthol flavor, especially the smilin'. Watermelon is fabulous, also. Have fun with it, I sure have :D

Welcome aboard! I was also amazed that I was able to put the analogs down after just a few days, and I hadn't really set my mind to quitting - it just happened. Make sure to take advantage of this great forum - anytime you have questions or problems, you'll always find plenty of help and support here. Best of luck to you!

Your story is mine. I had to learn to "trust" that the e-cig would give me what I needed and went through some panic moments but just kept after it. In the mornings if I couldn't get a good hit off of my pv I would hit the passthru a couple of times and then I was ok. It does take some time to get used to but it is well worth it to make it all work. Now your journey will be to try different flavors which is a lot of fun.

oh...and don't run out of cartos/juice!

Can we have a BIG Amen on this from the congregation?

Order more than you need, in fact, order LOTS more than what you need. Then order lots more than you need on your next order too. Too many of us have ran out just before our next order arrived and been here panicking on the forum while cussing the postal service. :D

Right on! (I don't want to run out!)

I tried smoking an analog last night while cooking dinner for the family (I was making some tasty Veal Marsala) and I couldn't finish it. What is boggling me is now I'm like a fish out of water, I'm in the in-between world now. I can't enjoy analogs anymore and I'm still not at the stage where the E-cigs have completely filled the void left by the analogs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suffering in any way, no withdraw, just weird little quirks because I'm between habits. I feel good knowing that as long as vaping is legal I'll stay off the analogs but I just haven't found my rhythm yet.

Thanks everyone.
