After watching videos about how easy the rba that comes with the subox mini is to use, I finally tried my hand.

I think I wicked it too thick cause it draws a bit tighter than the OCC's you can buy.

The one loaded in it reads at 0.5 so all I had to do was wick it so I didn't do much but I'm getting good clouds and the flavor is ok. Next time I'm use a little less cotton.

But I'm happy I tried it.

I take it these coils will last longer than the prebuilts I've been buying that I'll just have to rewick from time to time or will the coil actually burn out?

The Rba is supposed to have a pretty vast amount of cotton in it. And the Air Flow should not be restricted in any way unless you have cotton blocking the air hole. Here is how it should relatively look

And yes the coil should last you easily a month with proper care. Burning and cleaning after a series of sweet/sugary juices. Other than that all you should have to do is rewick and have at it.

I would chuck that build. That wire is pretty well oxidized.

I've always found the airflow a lot more restrictive on the RBA... Didn't even consider my coil was too high and blocking the chimney! Cheers :)
That's been my only real complaint with it - a little tight on the draw. But I have the old v1 RBA. Next rebuild/re-wick I'm going to check the clearances on the deck and chimney.

I didn't fall in love with the rba till i used twisted 28g and rayon. Also raylon lasts longer and tastes better imo.
