So my first juice order was from bluemist and so far I'm not impressed. I ordered caramel tobacco and creme de menthe in 24mg 80/20. The caramel tobacco is so harsh I could not vape it. The creme de menthe is a little smoother but still hurts my throat. Do you think it's the high nic content? I got a sample from them of forbidden fruit at 8mg that wasn't as bad. Does anyone find the clear / thinner juices to be smoother than the darker / thicker juices? Am I just using the wrong vendor? I'm vaping on a Riva with a 510 Atty and cartridges. Sometimes there's too much TH (which feels like a lung hit) sometimes not enough TH...very frustrating! Help? Thanks!

I've been vaping maybe a year. Just a few weeks ago I found a juice I can use 8 to 10 hours a day without getting tired of it. That made me happy... but the fact of the matter is that trying different juices was an important part of my being able to stop smoking. The variety was a good thing for me.

The nic might be too much for you. Some people need 24 or even 36. I started with 24 and after about a month dropped down to 18 and 16 (depending on vendor). And, the nic level has a lot to do with the amount of throat hit you'll experience. Less nic might be smoother for you.

My best advice is to try samples from as many vendors as you can afford to and as many flavors as sound good to you... and you should drop by the classifieds and swaps thread as well as the pay it forward thread. You'll find good deals and better methods to make trying lots of different juices easier and more affordable.

Thanks six great post! I started buying more juice now I'm just waiting for them to come from KBV and VV I hope one of these will be good. I didn't go over 12mg nic as i was a half a pack a day Marlboro lights smoker and theres about 1mg in each analog. So over 13-15 drags of 12mg juice your bound to get 1mg....Arent you gonna at least tell me whats your all dya vape and from whom?

it's all relative with juice. some has killer TH at 12mg and others have almost no TH. High nic is mainly for those that were smoking packs and packs a day. If you were only half a pack, then 12mg should be good. KBV is a good vendor for sweet juice. I would go for vendors more known for their tobacco next time. Want2Vape, Vaperite, and Backwoods Brew are all well known for their tobacco flavors. My favorites come from them. Want2Vape has three cigar extracted juices that taste absolutely real. Vaperite extracts their tobacco and their VR4 is awesome. Backwoods brew makes my other favorite with Malty Toffee

Honestly I think its my device. Using an atty and cartridges gives a different hit consistency every time. What gives a consistent hit? Should I use cartomizers?

Atomizers can give inconsistent hit due to many factors. The biggest is poor wicking. If you atomizer is clean and your getting a harsh hit it could be a sign of poor wicking. ie: Too much filler in the cart.

If it's clean and the hit is very mild it could be a sign of too much wicking, flooding. ie: Not enough filler in the cart.

You should say SCREW cartridges and just direct drip. Get a cheap drip tip and then drip 3 drops into the atomizer, and vape away!
That will give you a consistantt hit everytime and the best flavor.

My favorite is Honey Flue Cured Tobacco from LiquidXpress. Or Applewood Tobacco from Backwoodsbrew.
Good luck to you.

@zoiDman - I think its the cartridges bec the atty is brand new. Problem with the carts are that arter 5 hits you need to refill. What I'm saying is just when you fill it its harsh and then gets milder and milder till theres no throat hit.

@bassthumper - I tried dropping in the atty bridge and while the vapor was good it later clogged my atty and I was forced to clean it out. No more dripping for me. Plus who wants to walk around with a bottle all day? Thats exactly what I'm trying to avoid.

Applewood from Back Woods Brew. - I think you won't want that one, though. BWB Applewood has pretty much the most potent throat hit of any juice I've tried. That's one of the reasons I like it so much. -

Another one from BWB I like a lot is Maple Tobacco. It needs to steep a few weeks, though. I didn't like it fresh out of the mailbox, but after a few weeks on the shelf, the maple lost a little sweetness and the tobacco came out. -- that one doesn't have nearly as much throat hit as the applewood. ------- Oh, and if you're in to vanilla, BWB is head and shoulders above all others with their vanilla. It's mellow and not too sweet, but also needs some steeping time.

You mentioned trying a caramel tobacco. Madvapes Top Vapor Caramel Tobacco has a bit of a perfumy odor to it, but doesn't taste perfumy. It's a very good caramel tobacco (not too sweet, good tobacco flavor, but you'll definitely taste the caramel too) and I've noticed it does lack throat hit. It's very smooth. -- One note on that one is that it plugs up cartomizers really fast, but performs well in atomizers.

You'll definitely want some cartmizers if you don't want to carry the bottle all day. I'd recommend the dual coils because they hold a ton of juice and have awesome flavor. Win win IMO.

Applewood is my all day as well Six! I just love that stuff! Do you prefer steeped or fresh?.

It's more tart when it's fresh and I like it that way. It's more woody and the tobacco comes out after steeping a few weeks and I like it that way too. - My last order included 150 ml which I'm half way through, so I get the best of both worlds. - That's also why that one has become my "all day". I like it at any age.

Ha ha that's a ton of Applewood. I like it fresh as well. I have some from February and its real woody lol and I just don't like it as much as fresh. Saving it for a trade or something I guess. I can't wait till Don gets back so I can place an order.
