2.4 First-aid measures and management principles
There are no known antidotes.

Immediate establishment of an airway, monitoring of breathing
patterns, and maintenance of circulation are essential in
cases of serious overdose. Preparations for possible seizures
or rapid progression to coma and artificial ventilation
procedures should be kept ready, oxygen may be required.

If vomiting has not occurred following nicotine ingestion,
remove stomach contents by gastric lavage. Induction of
emesis is less preferable to lavage since convulsions or coma
may intervene.

Single or multiple doses of activated charcoal may be used.
Children who ingest more than one cigarette should receive
activated charcoal and medical observation for at least
several hours.

If nicotine is spilled on the skin, immediately wash
thoroughly with running water (avoid warm water).

Seizure activity and agitation can be controlled with diazepam
or barbiturates.

Seems reason enough to at least label the contents of e-liquid as containing nicotine at a specific level. Duh .. the stuff is poison!

This lack of labeling is one of the greatest sins that present suppliers now commit. Even a cursory glance at e-smoking from any regulatory agency will see the omission of proper labels and safety precautions like child-proof caps (for most e-liquids). Expect a complete ban on the present packaging of e-liquid. It is blatantly unsafe.

Only a few "get it."

It makes no sense that e-liquids are not labeled poison and should not be ingested. I know if I was a seller of e-liquids I would put a sticker on each bottle. Why don't sellers do this? What would it cost? A bottle that says chocolate or cherry is an open invitation for someone to taste it. We all know that someone will eventually.

I totally agree TBob the fact that this stuff comes in easy to open bottles with no labeling is just asking for it.

And I'll admit it didn't really occur to me just how dangerous this stuff was until reading through this forum. With two small children that would be pretty damned useful information. I now make sure I store my liquid out of reach of little hands.

But advise to any suppliers label this crap and get some child proof bottles before someone toddler chugs a bottle of 36mg death.
