Why twist when you can braid? I braided 3 strands of 30 gauge kanthal, made two 6" strands. Took me about 15 minutes. Then wrapped each strand around a 2.5mm bit, 8 wraps each. Slapped them in my BF Trident V2 on my Reo and packed some Koh Gen Do in there, fairly tight. I was hoping to almost have cotton squeezing out the spaces in the wire for better contact. While firing this thing, the coils look like their boiling, bubbles and stuff coming right out of the coil. Very good taste, but maybe not quite as much vapor as my typical 26 gauge 7 wrap sleepers on the same atty.

Came out .39 ohms

Typically I'm not a fan of super elaborate coil builds. Like I said I'm usually doing a dual sleeper on my Trident because the slotted posts make it really easy. This seemed relatively worth it though and somewhat entertaining to build too. Had to retighten the posts a couple times and had to glow the coils a few more times than normal to get them firing evenly, which they do fire evenly. Spool time is a little higher than my 26 gauge builds, but there's a lot of wire in there

Ω England Ω
i vape braided quite a lot but i like to be around 0.2Ω no matter the wire or coil, even 32g braided at 0.2 vapes really well without burning juice & wick or melting wire.
4 strands of 32g braided is a favourite of mine, if you have any, 1/16th id. in my signature there is a link where you can find a vid that shows how to braid 4 strands if you dont already know :)
i've tried all sorts of coils with braided 28-24g but like you i dont like to much wire in my builds.
