nerves where the worst for me, customers yelling at me I just kept telling my self your not going to make me smoke you stupid ignorant #$%@ and grab the strongest tabaco flavor I have, it passed in about 3 days I could handle my stress moments with out giving a thought to that pack of smokes in my freezer. I realize there is no money involed in my situation but hey if you can get through it the first time after a couple days it goes away

Well, now if I can not smoke while trading - ha. I was long Wells today and the market moved down a bit ago and I panicked and sold out too early... and had to have a cig...still made money, but they jammed me... I would be up a lot if I just left it alone...oh well. Such is life.

Point being, that is my last hurdle.... nerves get going... want an analog... I tended to chain smoke when in a trade...

Stress = smoking, for me at least.

You're a day trader or working in IB as well?

I trade some...whenever I see "something". If Wall St. insists on donating me some money I am glad to take it, lol. The only reason i sold out is it is the last day of the month and i am a bit concerned about 1185 close on the SP. Other than that the chart on Wells (IMO) said, long, long, long. But the market doesn't "always" do as it should.... At least I wasn't the idiots that sold Wells at $26.89 on the checkdown today. ... That trade would have made me smoke a pack... at least... lol.

If I trade my philosophy is ... if X happens then Y, then Z "should" happen.

Well, I "try" and ignore news. I trade based on what the market is telling me. Why I try and turn off CNBC. I don't care what they think or say. The only reason the channel has any value, in my view, is if breaking news. Other than that I don't care.

They can "report" the world is going to hell and if the market says long - I am long. Period.

Of course I may smoke 10 analogs doing it... lol.

It isn't "trying" to quit analogs - you simply desire them less the more you vape. If that happens day one or day 190 - it doesn't matter.

Congrats Doc!!!!!! I so agree it doesn't matter...for me, it happened on day one, and I haven't looked back since!!!

Goodluck Doc, thanks for repling on my intial post. I always wanted to quit but couldn't. I work with the public and can't afford to be going thru nicotine withdrawls and being a grouch. This vaping thing is was my ticket. I tried one and haven't had analog since. It has only been Three days but I didn't want an analog with my coffee, my beer or while driving. That was unheard of before Saturday.I had an urge to smoke on my porch but vaped instead. Plus this forum is a great support group and I have a support group of friends on facebook.

Don't sweat the "early out". Love Jim Cramer's advise..........Bears AND Bulls make money, Pigs get slaughtered. If you made money it's all good.
