Hi, all. This is my first post in the e-liquid review forum. I just received some Dekang Desert Ship from Madvapes, and I thought I'd post my first impressions, though I'm sure many of you have already tried this juice. A little background - I've tried two USA-made Desert Ship liquids, one from FSUSA and one from Vapor Bomb. I liked both, but the FSUSA version did have a slight baby powder taste to it, and the smell of the Vapor Bomb version made my wife sick, so... I figured I'd try again. Since the Dekang juices are so cheap, I decided it wouldn't be any great loss if I bought some and ended up not liking it. Here goes...
I'm vaping this juice on an eGO with a bridgeless LR 510 atty. Direct drip.
The smell from the bottle - smells a lot like the other Desert Ships, but with an underlying hint of... Fish? Weird.
The taste - Nutty. That's about all I'm getting right now. Not sure if it's almond or peanut, but I'm making myself believe that it's almond because I hate peanuts. Not bad, but I'm certainly not getting any tobacco flavor yet. Hopefully either the juice or my palate will change enough for me to get some tobacco out of this stuff.
The throat hit - Solid. Not choking me, but I smoked non-filter analogs for years, so it'd take something outrageous to overwhelm me. But yeah, it feels good.
The vapor production - I believe Dekang juices from Madvapes are all 100% PG? Is that right? Well if that's so, I'm very impressed. I'm getting just about as much vapor from this as I've gotten from the 70/30 (PG/VG) juices I usually vape. So I'm pleased about that!
The smell of the vapor - No idea. I'll have to wait on my wife's verdict for that!
All in all I'm feeling sort of neutral about this juice. One the one hand, throat hit and vapor are very pleasing, but on the other, the taste just isn't what I was hoping for. Still, at the price Madvapes charges, it's hard to complain! Also there's the chance that with some steeping, the flavor profile will change - though I don't know how long this stuff was on the vendor's shelf. It may have reached it's full potential already.
Do my observations match anyone else's experience? Or is there anyone who thinks I'm way off base? Either way, I'd love to get some feedback! Thanks for reading and God bless all vapers with freedom and voluminous clouds of vapor!
