Well, I just got my first ejuice order in from Mt baker vapor. I only tried the Hawk sauce and the moo juice so far, but I have to say I am really disappointed. The hawk sauce tasted like grape medicine and the moo juice has little flavor and is harsh and it makes my tongue numb.

I am not even sure if it is safe to keep vaping a juice that makes my tongue numb? I purchased from them because their company was reputable and at my price range. Now I am regretting that purchase.

Has anyone here had similar experience?

So you ordered a juice online you didn’t try beforehand and four that though lots of people seem to like them you don’t.

Ok, that’s totally normal and expected. Buying juice without trying it first is always a total crapshoot because juice tastes are so individual.

So I guess yes. Lots and lots of people have had that experience b fore with lots and lots of juice companies.

When I tried Mt Baker Vapor, I was new to vaping and using very high nicotine (18 & 24mg). I did not like their juice at all! That being said... I ordered samples from many places around the same time, all higher nic. I didn’t like most of them. Mostly due to the fact they seemed harsh to me. Though the flavor wasn’t at all what I was looking for either. Later I found this was mostly because of the high nic. The juices I liked most at that time were fruity and more particularly, citrusy fruits. Now I know that these types of flavors cover higher nic better. Idk what nic level you’re using or if this might pertain to you. But I do know that some venders juice I just don’t really like. Actually, probably most venders is more realistic. IMO most commercial juice is disappointing. Not all, but a lot! I DIY now but remember quite enjoying Naked 100 Amazing Mango and other naked 100 flavors. Aqua Flow was one of my favorites. Loaded Smores was one I always kept around. Cosmic Fog Milk & Honey is tasty. Beard #51 is a nice dessert vape. Treats E-Juice is a fruity COPYRIGHTDMCA rice crispy treat, vanilla bean ice cream sandwich:p All these are juices I found to really like to my taste. I tried SO many and found so few! I don’t know how long you’ve been vaping but if not too long, I suggest figuring out what types you like first and then seek out your favorites for that type(s). Best of luck and don’t give up! Thats only one company out of so so many:)

(Pss... I still don’t like Mt BV.)

What is your pg/vg ratio? Unfortunately finding juices you like is probably the biggest challenge and most expensive thing when starting out. If you can find a shop with a tasting bar it would be worth a day trip to go and learn what you like.

I am not new to vaping. I actually started out making my own juice from flavors from TFA because it was more affordable. But, after 2 years I gave up on it. None of the juice recipes I tried tasted very good, but they were good enough for me at the time, then it got to be too much and I ended up going back to smoking. I am vaping 6mg right now. I was hoping buying commercial juices would make my life much easier. Sadly, I live in a small town so we dont have any flavor samplings. So I am stuck guessing as to what I am buying. I chose MBV because after buying a new set up I just didnt have much left to invest in "high quality" juices. I that as my first experience buying commercially online. My juices now seem like winners :) But I tossed all my flavors last year and I just cant imagine reinvesting in it all again.

:ohmy:I can’t imagine going back to commercial after DIY! IMO there’s no comparison to the quality. Though it’s not for everyone. Being that you have this DIY experience, you have to know how different different companies juice are...
ha ha when I first started vaping I went straight into diying because I couldnt justify the expensive cost of commercial juices. so this is actually my first time using commercial juice. I guess I just expected it to be better than my diy version as they are "professionals" and I really dont know much.

You will have to go higher end to come close to diy imo, especially if you didn't use much sweetener. I was very happy with Highbrow Vapor (all flavors) and Zeus e-juice (for fruits) before I started diy. Both are mid priced.
I never used sweetener in my diy recipes. I thought it just muted the flavors. Thank you for the suggestions. I will check them out.

@ellejewell2016, I don't know what kind of vaping hardware you have, or are using. I have found that the same e-liquid will taste different on different hardware.

If you have a variable power/temperature device; I would suggest you try higher and lower settings. I have found that I may need to make a rather significant change from one device to another using the same e-liquid.

Likewise, in regards to the atomizer, if it has an adjustable airflow control, experiment with opening up and closing off airflow (along with power/temp adjustment). This too has had rather dramatic impact on the way some of my e-liquids have tasted to me.

This isn't a cure-all for all bad e-liquid, but sometimes it can help. :)

I know I'm kind of new to vaping but I found with commercial eLiquid if I added a couple drops of sweetener to them it brought out the flavor more. I'm probably going to gunk up my coils but at least the commercial flavors taste better.
Careful, you’ll fall into the DIY rabbit hole:laugh: Sweetening my commercial juice is how it began for me. My thoughts were, if a bit of sweetener adds this what will a drop of this and a drop of that do?... And the rest was history as far as commercial. I must say, I’m lovin’ it!:D

Yes. Mt Baker is not for everyone. I ordered 10 bottles and didn't like a single one. They all went down the drain in a matter of weeks. That's never happened to me in several years of vaping. It was my worst experience with a line of juices. I trusted online reviews a little too much.

You may prefer gourmet flavours. Avoid cheap liquids if they don't agree with you and get some good quality well known gourmet juices. Consider the following lines : Adore Eliquids, Cosmic Fog, Five Pawns, One Hit Wonder, Dinner Lady, Cuttwood, Space Jam, Sleeping Dragon Vapor, Naked 100, Stash Eliquid, Kindjuice.

I really like Adore Eliquids at the moment. Their flavours are incredibly good and the prices very reasonable. Gourmet juices for below par prices. Banana bondage is a powerhouse amongst juices and has won awards.

Heathers Heavenly Vapes though not as astoundingly good as they used to be is still very good and their prices are also reasonable.

Instead of ordering from one line perhaps consider getting an account with a stockist that sells many different lines and try different ones and see if you can get a sense of which juice lines appeal to you.

I've been vaping for 9 years and DIY just never worked for me. I've even tried macerating Naturally Extracted Tobacco and that turned out bad as well. I think I have two left thumbs or something.

Just recently I thought I would mix some basic tobacco based concentrates at 2-3% (Little Space Drops and Virginia) with PG/VG and nicotine and both tasted horrible. I've tried different percentages of mixing and it still tasted horrible.

I find it fascinating how people can mix their own so well that it tastes better than the commercial product. Kind of like home cooking compared to restaurant food!
