I always suggest the EHPro EA mod (Electric Angel clone) as a first mech mod. It is fiddle free as it telescopes, side fire butting so nothing is cruchy or locks up on you, floating 510, great threads, can run any battery size, has among the lowest voltage drop available including authentics, built like a tank. Only clone mod I still use to this day, all the others have gone in the drawer.

not to derail the OP, but what parts on a nemesis love to get lost for you? it seems to be a device that functions well w/ very little that can go wrong. my locking switch has gotten stuck a few times.. thats the worst ive experienced.. and i lose everything. i guess you could lose the bottom and top silver plated connectors.. but i dont really ever take mine out. when assembled correctly they never fall out or cause any issue to me in 3 months of solid continuous use (my everyday mod and only one i use)

On all the nemesis mods I've opened up, clone or not, there are two pieces that love to get lost for me. First is the secondary spring that sits somehow intertwined with the first one, but falls out and sometimes rolls away, especially when doing magnet upgrades for people. It isn't the most necessary piece in the world, so I let it slide, usually. The second is the little brass pin that stops the switch from rotating within itself, making it impossible to unscrew later. If that gets lost, either you hope you have a toothpick or some 16gauge wire on you, because otherwise it's a lost cause, and it becomes near impossible to work with later.
My other gripe with the Nemesis is the lock ring, because if it seizes, vice grip marks make it look bad. Over time, I've learned to love mods that don't use lockrings, like the 4nine.

ive found everytime i about went and grabbed the vice grips if i eased way up on the pressure the ring would slide and work. the more you squeeze on it, the harder it is to turn.. bc it makes it grab the threads and the tube it is around. but i hearya.. lockrings are a pita.. and the 4nine is on my list. was just curious.
