first order impressions/questions

my first order from v4l has been a mixed bag. the kamel and wowbacco juice i got are both just fine (4mg; enough TH for me, average vapor, taste like some pretty standard tobacco flavors to me). i've been tryin out the cartos i got, not as much luck there. the pomegranate one i got (free sample) tasted like perfume, so i threw it away after 2 drags. the 555 (Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Cartomizers Tobacco Shop Sampler Hilton Kant RY4 555 Dunhall) was pretty good, nice nutty tobacco flavor. the ry4 out of that same pack is pretty nasty. its got a chemically, almost burning plastic taste to it. i'm pretty sure it's headed for the trash as well. the nuport (Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Prem. Nuport Cartomizers) is ok, but the one i've tried out of the pack didn't seem to have a whole lot of juice in it. possible error, i understand those happen. flavor was about what i expected, pretty decent menthol.

so, anyone else getting weird nasty perfume/chemically tastes out of v4l cartos? and suggestions as to what (if anything) i've done wrong?

The Flavors are a very dependent on the individual. Some people are simply over-sensitive to some of the flavor additives, especially the Sweeteners used.

I haven't tried Pomegranate, but I found Strawberry to be excessively perfumey, so much so that I gave it to a friend, who didn't mind the flavor.

RY4 is ok but again, it has a very strong sweet flavor in it which doesn't agree with me (the Caramel additive I suspect).
Perhaps if a different sweetener was used, it would be ok.

Sometimes you get a dud carto here and there, so its possible that your RY4 Cart was too dry or the element was not sitting correctly, causing the material to burn. Throw the carto away as soon as it starts burning (popping the cap off and refilling it is another option).

Perhaps give Mint, Pineapple, and Cuban Cigar a try, they don't seem to have that perfume taste.

I have bought several sampler packs over the months, and sometimes a cart will taste burnt very quickly. My fix is to refill it with about 5 drops of compatable flavored juice right away.

Tastes change over time too, while I disliked Ry4 at first, I love it now.

Hope this helps. In the early months, I bought several 5 ml bottles of juice and enjoyed sampling lots of flavors. I will also order a flavor I like in carts, plus the juice so I am refilling with the same flavor without thinking too much about it.....

I just got a 5-pack of RY4 cartos a few days ago based upon so many people raving about it here. I don't taste caramel at all... it is just awful.

I've had a few bad flavors that my tongue didn't agree with (RY4, Margarita, Mint Julep) and a few that I've really enjoyed and can vape all day (Smilin' Menthol, Doc Pepper, Peppermint Ice Cream, Cowboy Menthol).

Don't throw your cartos away.. save em', boil em out, and buy the small 5ml bottles to try stuff out until you find something you really like.

i do the same thing when i buy juice. it makes refilling them so much better cus i dont have to label them.

the ry4 is just plain nasty! i just PIF'ed it a few days ago. i bought it based of of reviews and a sample i got. the stuff in the bottle tasted nothing like the sample carto.

When you say sweeteners, I have to ask, are there any calories and/or sugar in the sweet flavors?

there typically isnt any sugar, cus sugar gums up the atty. i dont know about calories, but i would think that the calories would be so low that it wouldnt matter, i mean we are breathing it, not eating it.
