Hi everyone!

The information on these forums has been of great use to me over the last two years or so. Finally creating an account :).

I used to be an on-and-off vaper, mixing it up between analogs and my SmokeStik. However, a friend introduced me to the joys of a serious PV (eGo-T) and "gourmet" e-liquids a few months ago and I was immediately hooked. Haven't touched an analog since July and have felt no urge to whatsoever. Not after a meal, after work, while taking a dump, etc.

Okay, now for my maiden question: I've currently got a reasonable collection (nine varieties so far; mostly from Alien Visions and a few brick-and-mortar vendors when I was on holiday - any gear is illegal where I'm living) of juice, and there's this one from GourmetVapor ("100% Wintergreen"; 70/30, double flavour, 18mg) which gives off an unmistakably "burnt" flavour after three or so hits.

I doubt it's an issue with the thickness of the juice as I also have 100% VG's in my rotation (AVE's "Gorilla juice" and "Boba's Bounty"; Sin City Vapor's "Sunday Morning" - I'm in love with that flavour) and they are *visibly* thicker. Have also tried doing a full clean out and check of the clearomiser which did not resolve the issue. Strangely enough, when I hacked one of my spent cartomisers and tried out the juice with the SmokeStick, it tasted fine.

Should I try watering the juice down, or make some adjustments to my set up?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as the juice itself is pretty tasty when it burns right. Like a minty root beer with a tingly TH. Mmm...

Thanks in advance!

PS: My set up - 900mAh eGo-T, 1.8ohm KangerTech T3S clearomisers.

You may consider changing that with a 2.2ohm. For my part, I also remove one stread of fiber for the device for a better tasting experience.

Look thru forums or do a google search and you'll find videos on how to remove a string of fiber.

With a 2.2ohm, you can bring the voltage up to 4.3 without having to wurry about a dry hit.... if your liquid and the rest is fine obviously.

Thanks for your replies, guys!

Okay, I was hoping no one would mention going for a higher resistance, as I just placed an order for a few more 1.8s . I guess that is the sensible thing to do, however.

In the meantime, I'll try to thin the wick a little and see how it goes. If it still tastes "off", I guess it'll have to go back on the shelf until I get some 2.2s in.

If you remove one or more of the flavor wicks, you're going to invite leaking or gurgling.

Burnt taste is caused by your wicking system's inability to move liquid across the heating surface. You're vaporizing liquid faster than the wicks can deliver it. Removing one or more of the flavor wicks doesn't improve liquid flow across the coil. Instead, it allows liquid to enter the air flow system.

Adding to, or replacing those flavor wicks will improve the system's ability to move and maintain the liquid's presence at the coil. You can use ordinary cotton cheesecloth or part of a 100% cotton ball rolled to about 1mm in diameter. Pull the stem from the coil and place the additional/new wick right across the top of the coil. Replace the stem and grommet and you're good to go.

Don't dry burn with cotton or you'll have to replace it.
