I have been a "lurking member" here for a while. I have learned so much from this forum.

I am still smoking analogs...really want to kick that habit for good. I have tried MANY times as I am sure most everyone here knows how that goes. My last quit lasted the longest...one month. Then I bought a pack and was smoking 3 a day. Of course life happens and I am now smoking about 10 a day.

In late spring I ordered the Joye 510 and I used it off and on. More off than on. I was talking to some online friends who have been vaping a lot longer and one of them told me about the eGo being on sale from Puresmoker. So last week I ordered a kit in red. I LOVE this thing. I told my husband and a few friends that I think finally I can kick the analog habit using the eGo. Great customer service from them. One of the batteries arrived dead so I put it on the charger for hours and nothing. Emailed them on Tuesday and my replacement battery arrived today...works fine.

Every morning I look forward to reading a lot of the posts on this forum. This is a very active forum so it is almost impossible to read everything. But I just want to thank whoever started this forum and all of the posters who are so helpful to everyone.

I am on a very limited vaping budget...mainly due to paying the high prices for so many years for analogs. The little store closest to me charges $6.89 with tax for a pack of Marlboro Light 100s.

I have been smoking far too long. I started when I was 16 and have been smoking regularly for 45 years. My husband quit cold turkey 5 years ago. He was more of a social smoker. He hints every so often that I need to quit...getting smokers cough. So he was very happy when I bought the kits. I just need to start using these more.

Well...I just wanted to get my first post in...sorry for rambling. I tend to do that a lot.

Welcome, Maggie! Glad to hear you're enjoying your new eGo. I love mine and am so glad I decided to try out one of those cheap-quality, expensive starter kits about six weeks ago. I also started smoking when I was 16 (on my 16th birthday) and smoked for 42½ years.

Hope you love vaping so much that you'll be able to quit smoking!

Hi, Maggie. I smoked for 40+ years as well. Started with a 510 then got my eGo.....Love it. If you want to find some really inexpensive juice, you should try USA Made Vapor Renu. Their juices are half price compared to most juice vendors. I thought that because it was so cheap, that it might not be good, but it's GREAT. Really. I feel like I've discovered a gold mine and want to share. (I don't have any connections with them....just a satisfied customer.) Anyway, if you're on a tight budget, that's one way to go.

This forum has helped me (and so many others) quit completely. I think the vaping is excellent, but sometimes ya need a support group, too. That's what I've found here.....a whole bunch of cheerleaders who can keep a person on track. Don't get discouraged. If you have any questions.....come here.....these people have answers for EVERYTHING vaping. Good luck....if I can do it, you can do it. And once you actually commit to it, it's really, really easy. Good luck.

Welcome Maggie! I hope this next step brings you closer to transitioning away from analogs. I had been smoking for 25 years (started when I was 11) and I started vaping last february. Needless to say...it was a long transition for me. I didn't put the analogs down til late August. It was finding the right device and the right juice to help me make that change in habbit. I believe you can do it to. Just don't lose hope....keep on trying! You'll get there!

Premium cigarettes are just over $10/pk after tax here.

Welcome Maggie! I like your name! :thumb:

45+ year smoker, failed at all attempts to quit, so was sure I'd have to gradually ween myself off cigs when my starter kit arrived. Was completely amazed when that didn't turn out to be the case at all. By day 2 of vaping, I no longer craved a cigarette and haven't been tempted since, even when I'm around smokers. Maybe it's because I started with the highest nicotine level available; I don't know.

I started with a Blu and after about 2 weeks switched to a 510. Now excitedly waiting on an Ali'i juice box mod. Had I not found this forum and learned that there was such a thing as a juice box mod, I might have given up on vaping because I hate constantly recharging batteries and refilling carts.

So if you can't kick the :smokie: habit as quickly as you want, I urge you not to give up on vaping. Maybe you just need a higher nicotine level, a different juice flavor and/or atty, or maybe need to go the mod route. Just keep reading the forum posts until you find the right combo that's gonna work for you.

Best of luck!

Hey there Maggie
I never actually quit smoking. I haven't had a cigarette in over 11 days but I never made the commitment to quit. I tried an el-cheapo from 7-11 and then got an E-cig setup and then finally found this forum. I ordered a XL KR8 kit and some 36mg juice and cartos. When that showed up I vaped myself dizzy the first night and the following morning. There has been a couple times when a smoke sounded good but the urge passes, when I vape a bit. I know a few smokers who make a big deal out of quitting, throwing out their smokes, cleaning all the ashtrays....telling everyone but, for me, that just adds stress to the situation. If I really want a cigarette, I'll smoke one. It just hasn't happened yet.
Good luck and hang in there.

Sometimes you get what you pay for. There are about as many bad reviews for that vendor as good reviews.

I am a 26 yr smoker myself and trying to find the right device or mix to get me there. If anyone could share what the final mix was that did it for them, that would be great. As far as the ecig type and the flavor of juice that helped them.

The four flavors I vape all the time (all mixed with some Glycerin) are listed in my signature...all from FSUSA (but I've always loved caramel apples with nuts).

Hi Maggie, Welcome to the forum! I smoked over 40 years and know that revolving door of quiting and then going back. It was so demoralizing. I have been off the smokes for 10 months now and I still find it hard to believe. I found that I needed to get the 24mg juices to keep the cravings at bay and I had to vape quite often in the beginning. Just try to keep yourself satisfied for now and later you can adjust the nicotiene content down if you want. Best of Luck!

Welcome to the forum!
As a 45+ year smoker, who tried, gum, patches, zyban, nic-tablets, cold turkey......
vaping has given me the first real hope of getting off analogs for good.
I can hold a "cig" and get a nic hit and not crave an analog!!!!!

Best thing for me is realizing my smokers cough is gone and I can taste
and smell things again. Started with tabacco flavors and when I could
tast again, found licorice, vanilla and cinnamon were much more enjoyable
by far.

Hi Maggie, Welcome to the forum. I am a 50+ year smoker and nothing , I mean nothing from hypnotism to acupuncture and everything in between worked for me. I started vaping about 2 months ago and it took a while to find my perfect match with equipment and juice. I still had the mind set that I couldn't quit analogs completely until last Sunday, when I FINALLY DECIDED i WAS DONE with analogs. Haven't had one since. I don't even think about them except to think about how happy I am to not be smoking them. My point is this works so you go girl. Good luck and welcome again.
