First RBA

I've got a AGA-T2 coming in and I'm not sure at this point what would be a good place to start. I've considered making my first coils silica since I dont have a torch. What's a good type of silica and wire? I'm vaping 70/30 juice on a Twist so I'm aiming for 2.5Ohms of so.

I use a gas stove to oxidize my mesh. as far as set up, Youtube is your friend.

The reason I want to start with silica is so I'm sure I got the basics down before moving on too SS mesh etc:
Getting the technique down
Knowing what gauge of wire is suitable for a certain target voltage
How to check the resistance with my multimeter
Anything else that I haven't considered

Hopefully I'll find some answers in the thread you linked to.

If yoy are worried about hot spots. There is a new wick. Ceramic wick made from bubble stone. Rip trippers on you tube explains this. Good wicking and no got spots loss from not being oxidized you dont need to oxidized.

Any silica wick will work but if you want to wait, discount vapors has some of the ceramic wicks on order here

WOW, thanks for the info on the ceramic wick! this looks amazing and look forward to trying this out! I currently use 400 mesh ss wick and 26gauge kanthal wire, i have other gauges as well. I am definately going to try this ceramic wick

If you thought SS was hard wait... Fish Wicks are not difficult at all, getting the coil around them is.
If I were new to RBA's I would rather practice with mesh first, get my coil and wick techniques mastered then venture into the world of ceramic wicks.
These are exceptionally fragile and you will need to purchase more than 3 to get one working.

A silica setup in a RBA will not give the same vape as mesh. The two are completely different, you don't require a Torch perse you can still achieve an oxidized wick with a lighter or on your gas stove.
