I have a smok Mini RDA (nicknamed the "Squid"). It is about the diameter of an Ego battery. It's small but very simple and easy to use. One big plus is holes in the posts (unlike the Igo-L) and thumb screws instead of phillips or hex screws. The only thing I had to do was drill the airhole out to 1/16 inch, it's pretty tight in stock form.

Here's a picture of my first microcoil! The mini is attached to my MVP2...

Edit: Almost forgot it only cost like $5. You can find it on a couple of websites between $5 and $10 bucks. I think madvapes has it for $8.

i'd start with an igo-l or igo-w. the genuine youde products do have holes in the posts to secure your coils.

the igo-l is a two-post design for single coil builds and has a big "deck" with alot of room to work with.

the igo-w is the same size (the top caps are actually interchangeable) but the W has a three-post design which is ideal for dual coil builds. yes, technically dual coil builds are more advanced, but nothing too extreme. i personally recommend the igo-W for the fact that after you familiarize yourself with building coils, and may possibly want to advance to dual coild builds, you already will have the hardware to do so.

with the igo-w it is not required to build dual coils, i am currently using a single coil on my igo-w.

hope this helps!

I really do like the Igo-L and it's deep well and larger size, but I can't seem to find any pictures or evidence that it has holes in the posts. Not a deal breaker by any means and I only chose the mini RDA because it was cheap, simple and easy to practice on. (not that $15 for an Igo-L is expensive.) I will be picking one up eventually.

my fault...you are correct, sir. excuse my while i remove my foot from my mouth. hahaha. the igo-w HAS holes in the posts. the L does not.

BUT, not all hope is lost. a couple weeks ago we had a discussion in a thread and someone decided to create a thread of how he drilled his igo-L posts per my request. hahaha. so here it is if anyone is interested. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/495774-drilling-holes-igo-l-posts.html

if youre handy enough, you'd be able to do it. its a cool little trick. i think a vice grip might help tho...ALOT. haha.

My vote would be an igo-l or igo-w, both have lots of room to play with wick and wire setups. The w has an extra neg post for the future if you want to try multiple coils designs.

Mark,
the aga t2 is a great atty. she can be a little temperamental at times but puts out a nice vape. Took me several attempts to get it right. Be patient...
