Well, looks like I shouldn't put a sale thread together till 3am when I have to "get up" for work at 5am

I found several price mistakes that don't match the amounts when you click the "buy now" buttons. The amounts from the buttons are correct. As a matter of fact, I'm in the middle of putting all back to original prices (they have been at 15% off for the last couple days).

I've asked Misty to correct them for me -

The posts and buttons have been corrected!

Sorry for the mistakes, I should try and sleep once in a while... :p

Do you do custom orders. I have been looking for something exactly like this but one that just holds mods. Would it be possible to make one with like 5 hols for Vmax/provari/lavatube type holes? My kids are always hitting my computer desk and all my PV's topple over. These would be absolutely perfect.

I second that.

Yes, I do. As a matter of fact, I'm working on several right now. Two made out of 50,000 year old Ancient Kouri wood - should be pretty cool.

Plus, I'm in the middle of remodeling my kitchen - so I have to split time.

With all that's happening, I'm busier than a one legged man in a .... kicking contest...

Please PM me about what you would like, and we can start a conversation. I'll do my best to answer fairly expediently, but I am kinda stuck today with putting some new veneer on a couple cabinets and shooting some clear coat. So, I'll be kinda pokey in replies probably till tonight.

Thanks for the interest - and get in on the contest if you havent yet; same forum, it's the Absolute-Wood Contest.

Thanks-

Rick

Rick, I'm in awe of your art/craft.

I don't believe any of the holders presented will accomodate 5 ProVs except the longest ones that have 5 larger holes in them.

I could see more accommodation in sort of linking 2 together, longer row in back, shorter in front, sort of the way they take group photos, wood block higher in back, then a lower tier in front. Then the length would not have to be longer, right?

YES YOU NEED A WEBSITE! bet there's plenty of great designers here who would be glad to do a barter w/ya?

Thank you very much - I love doing it.

Like this:

I'm working on a couple of custom sets similar to this (shorter). One is a triple set - all made from Walnut with Padauk stripes. I will inset small button magnets so they will "snap" together and act as a single holder. I'll post pics after they're done

Got a website, just need to get it sales capable - right now it just provides a link to this thread. absolute-wood [dot] {com} just has a "canned" website template. I've gotten an offer to build a website, and need to check it out.

hi rick, these stands are *gorgeous* and i was really hoping to order one (or two)... unfortunately, my mods consists of tanks (lavatanks!), provaris and GGs and it doesn't look like any of these holes will fit snugly (Provari is 0.9 inches in diameter and closest thing i saw was 1inch)... i'll bookmark the thread and hope to see more stands soon!

i know that you provided measurements, but i think it would help you sell too if you provided examples of what can potentially fit in which holes... or maybe pictures with different types of mods/batteries/bottles so we can more easily see... i personally can be quite lazy about grabbing a ruler and measuring stuff and i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one! lol :p

Thank You-

The ProVari fits nicely in the one inch hole with just a little clearance. At .9" dia, it has less than 1/16" clearance per side of the hole. Even better fit if the hole is flocked.

Plus, if one of the "stock" holders, I can change the diameter on holes at no charge. A custom holder is only +10.00 compared to the "stock" holders and every hole can be customized.

Here is a custom modified hole for mods with the button at the bottom of the tube:

For the time being, I am stuck with hole sizes confined by the sizes of the drill bits available. I hope to upgrade my machine that bores the holes and slots with computer control which will allow me free reign of hole sizes and shapes.

Yes, thought of that- in my "introduce myself" thread, I have several pics of stands I made just before this run that have several PV's and accessories in them, as well as a pic with the hole sizes defined.

Plus, I am gathering information to put together a list of mod and accessory sizes, and the proper hole sizes for them.

Thanks,

Rick

1 inch works great for a ProVari.

Hi everyone-

I wanted to check in and let you know that I've been a bit absent the last week or two... Well, I have a short story.

I'm not sure how, but I've managed to hurt myself and the Doc says I need it repaired; the sooner the better. It's a particularly nasty type of hernia that can go way, way wrong if not addressed in time. So, walking on egg shells 'till I see a surgeon next Monday. Not sure what I did, just started hurting the other day.

I had this done years ago when I was a teen, and I'm thinking it'll probably be a good month until I can lift anything much heavier than a beer (doctors orders). And I think I should listen to my doctor...
:toast:

But, this may be a good time to start a thread for design ideas as I'll probably have some time on my hands. I can take suggestions and post drawings of custom ideas and designs driven by suggestions given. Might be fun, and you can help design new holders for addition to my line!

Thanks to everyone whom has supported me, and thanks for understanding my partial absence over the next month or so.

Vape 'em if ya' got 'em!

Rick
