I built my first ss build today.316l 24ga 3.5mm 9 wraps .23ohms on a 30mm ohmega tank.
all i have to say is Holy schnikies batman!!!!
no or very very little ramp up time, flavor is good..
im sold! cant wait to clapton it.
im not into temp control so its just been
straight power mode.
one thing that surprises me is that, ive been searching cincinnati
to find a shop that carries ss.
noone does. something that vapes so good ought to be flying off the shelves

Sorry it took so long to come back matey i've been flatout busy busy;)...
When ya said PowerMode i straight away thought of my SnowWolf and wondered if thats what you were using it on?
I tried 316L on my SW but it was jumping into TC mode, i really dislike TC but i don't need to worry anymore as my 200wSW died on me lol.
What i have been using in my mech for a few days now and i've really been liking is..
316L
2x 24g twisted
3mm id
5 wrap dual
0.13ohms
Rayon wick.
..on paper it works out to be 135w but is probably more like 110w-115w after voltdrop etc, it's really an awesome vape :)

the mods are cuboid,rx-200,ipv3 li sig 150
i havnt had any problems with any of them jumping to tc..
i too, dont like tc either...
the vape is just too mild, by the time the vape gets to
where i like it, bam, it shuts off.
im going to have to twist some ss up soon.
ive got a big tank and another genius 2 coming today or tomorrow.

I'm not sure if this made a difference to the final ohm's or not but just to let you know i did stretch my 24g ss316L quite a bit to straighten it out before twisting, if anything the stretching would help the ohms come up a little cus as you know it can be ridiculously low on some builds with this gauge.

Another thing i noticed is how sometimes you will dry burn between a re-wick and the coil's still look dirty or may even go a light grey so if i give them a little scrub with washing liquid on a toothbush under a hot tap and then give them another little few short pulses they seem to go back to almost new again.

i just started using SS about a month ago, and it has taken over as my favorite wire to use. it heats up nice, can be used in power or TC and has great flavor.

i never cared for TC using Ti and Ni200, but with SS it's been great in TC. sometimes i find my Evic VTC mini kicking me out of TC into power mode tho. I'm not sure why that's happening.

yes it can be low, thats part of what i like about it.....
so much more surface area....
i have noticed a couple of times i had to put atty on a mech mod to pulse
because the ohms registered too low....after a couple of pulses,
the ohms went right up....

yeah slippy ive also noticed the coils remaining somewhat dirty after removing old
wicking and pulsing....
i like that your using washing liquid and will try it myself...
ive just been pulsing red then using a wire brush....
it cleans it ok, but not new looking

not sure, but could it be that resistance gets over tc resistance limit, when it heats up, and then jumps out?
