I finally took a stab at cleaning an atty. I was getting reduced vapor and taste, so I had nothing to lose. My method was to soak the attys in coke for 10 minutes, then boil them in water for another 5 minutes. i air dried them for two hours and then used a hair dryer to dry them further. I primed the attys with 3 drops of juice and put on a full cart. The result? As good as new. Nice big vapor and taste.

BTW, these were DES 901 attys.

That's what I use. 70% rubbing alcohol. Soak for about 10 minutes. There is a great video showing to look for a stream to know it's clean. Then I sit them in front of a small fan for a few hours and they are good to go. Need to make sure completely dry. Let stand overnight if no fan. I want to try the soda and vinegar idea. That should cut the crust just fine.
