I was gonna post this in the recipe thread but it says in the thread "recipes only" so I figure I'll ask here.

The main reason I decided to try DIY is because I have been searching for a good Caramel Cream flavor, all the good ones I found were over $16 plus shipping and I refuse to pay that much for e-liquid.

I figure I can get some TFA Caramel and TFA Bavarian Cream to make a delicious creamy caramel (maybe some sweet cream too?)

My question is what are some good flavor % I should start off with? Also for those of you that tried TFA caramel and their Caramel candy, which one is better for my recipe? Also should I add a touch of TFA Sweet cream or anything else to make a good Creamy Caramel maybe even French Vanilla?

Is TFA a good starting point for my recipe or do other brands have a better Caramel? I just chose TFA because that's what seems the most common here.

Thanks!

Be forewarned, FW makes the caramel flavor Mt Baker uses. Your other thread said you didn't like the MBV caramel, in which case you might not like the FW caramel flavoring.

Your best bet might be to go to a place like One Stop DIY Shop or High Desert Vapes - Your Vapor Haven that sells multiple vendors flavors and buy a variety of caramels from different companies. You can get 10 flavors to try for less than $20 shipped at either place.

I cannot speak to the caramel flavor as I've never used that but i wouldnt use Bavarian Creme at any more that say 3% and thats the high end. Thats on the TFA Bavarian Creme. It doesn't take much, especially if you are using it with other flavors. That's good news for you too as it makes it cheaper.

Also, unless you are ok with the juice turning really dark, don't use more than 1% of it. BC by itself is a mild yellow color, for some reason once I mix it with other things it turns the juice dark. I'm down to using .075%.

Good luck.

How did you like the flavor though? Is it a nice creamy soft vanilla like taste? Or should I be looking for my cream notes in the other flavors like Sweet Cream or French Vanilla?

here's the best way i can describe it for you

its like that cream in the middle of a cream donut...like a pudding almost....kind of like a salted cream...i love the stuff but you may not...though salted caramel is pretty popular among the diy crowd here

if you are looking for creamy sweet you might try the ones your mentioned

i make this recipe that taste like banana pudding with vanilla wafers

2.5% tfa ripe banana
1% tfa vanillin (diluted)
1.5% tfa bavarian cream

seems like you could substitute your caramel for my banana but i dont know about the caramel percentage

I have tried several brands of Bavarian cream and to me they all seem to have a strong alcohol smell and taste to it so be careful not to add too much. I don't go over 3 to 4 % with BC. As for the caramel I agree with other posters Flavor West's Caramel Candy is the best I have found and I usually use about 10% but I do like my flavors strong. TPA has a good French Vanilla, my favorite though is from Flavor West. Good luck!

Have you tried the cinnomon roll? Would it be safe to assume they use fw cinnomon roll?
