First time Reo owner...what should I expect? Any tips or advise?

I have been vaping well over a year now, I have all manner of mods including a Vapage which is kinda of bottom bottle fed but this is my first Reo. I know I need hybrid style atomizers for it, are there ones that work better than others? What other tips would you have for an experienced vaper with his first REO. According to the seller the reducer tube (?) is already installed.

I really want to to be a good experience.

Not sure exactly what you mean by "hybrid style" atty.....any 510 atty/cartomizer will work on any REO. All you need to do is get a 510 atty and put juice in the bottle. You'll need batteries, which size depending on which REO you ordered. You need to know that delivery is signature-required, so be home when it gets there. Piece of cake. Congratulations!

edit: I use rebuildable attys now, but for a long time the HH-357s were my favorite. Also, Joye 510 LR were/are good. Lots of people like Cisco attys. A 306 will also fit, and there are those who love 306s (but not me, necessarily....)

You should expect vaping in its simplest yet highest quality form. I know you have heard a lot about the quality of REOs and are probably expecting something phenomenal, but don't be surprised if it exceeds your expectations. I know that both of mine did.

Get ready to fill your onboard bottle, put in the battery, equip it with the carto or atty of your choice and vape all day with no other work required. No need for extra juice, batteries or anything else in your pocket.

So, what did you get? Like JC said above, each type of REO takes different batteries, so make sure you ordered the ones for your rig. AW IMRs are recommended.

Others have already addressed most of your questions but I'll tackle the reducer tube. The reducer tube is not already installed. Most folks don't need or use it....but it is included just in case. It is there to keep your device from autofeeding if you are running a very thin juice through your mod. It will be in the little ziploc bag along with the business card. It will be very hard to see because it is clear. See photos below.
Here is the reducer tube...

Here it is installed...kind of. You don't need to use the whole tube. You can cut it in half so you have a spare.

I was wondering more along the lines of do they flood easy? Any feeding quirks? I know some attys are unsuitable for the REO, I have some that are sealed on the bottom and obviously they wouldn't work.

I did order a repair kit, mostly because I don't know what was vaped in it before and some flavors are impossible to get out of plastic. It is coming with 4 spare bottles but the flavor can be stuck in the feeding tube as well plus I like have the other spare parts on hand.

Congrats on your purchase. You are correct that the sealed atty's will not allow bottom feeding. They will work but only for dripping.

Squonking is feeding your atty by pressing on the bottle. There is a learning curve to know how much to feed and when. A lot of us blind squonk. Draw without firing, squonk a little juice till you hear a gurgle and feel a little resistance. Stop squonking. Vape away!

Until you realize that only a little pressure on the bottle gives you enough juice you may flood your atty or cartos. A full bottle just needs a gentle squeeze.

Cartos work well. You don't need to prefill. Just put them on, blind squonk and vape.

Most pick up the technique quickly. After you "get it" you will realize just how easy vaping a REO can be.

Congrats on your purchase. Read up on the blind squonk to perfect your juice feeding experience. Unlike the Vmod you don't have to tip it to fill a chamber to feed the juice. Squeezing the bottle does the work which is more straightforward and efficient. Standard ejuice bottles as well on the mini and no proprietary attys and gaskets to worry about.

How much liquid that ends up in the catch cup is very atty dependent. While the expensive HH.357 not only have terrific flavor and vapor, the catch cup stays virtually dry. If you travel around a lot with it in pockets or purses, the HH.357s will save you on wasting juice and cleaning up small messes. I found 306s were the messiest, but their flavor and vapor were good and much less expensive. I still use hh.357s on my mini for travel, but have switched to the RBAs on my big boys. You might want to ready some of the threads that talk about RBAs for the minis, I haven't tried a mini sized one yet so can't recommend one. Just love them in general.

Lastly, don't forget Rob covers his REOs no matter who owns them. If yours is more gunked up than you like being used, you can always send it in for a relatively inexpensive rehab.

Does yours come with the bigger button? They are well worth it. PM if you don't have one, I bought a bunch of spares because I lose things, but they stay on so well I still have them all.

I'm still struggling a bit with the 'squonking' thing ... I find the bottle a little hard to get to comfortably right now so still figuring out the right trick with that. Still getting too much juice in the catch well so obviously squeezing too hard and just don't quite have 'the feel' yet. Might have to try those HH.357's yet. I am SO not a fiddler so can't see myself going the RBA route. Have an order coming for the shorty cartos that I have heard some people really like. Although ... one of the biggest reasons that I wanted Bottom-Feeders was so get entirely away from cartos ...

Anyway, I know that I am just one of those people who seem to be cursed with a longer than normal learning curve but hey! Once I 'get it' ... I'm good to go!

I have 306 and 510 attys in the parts box, including my favorite 510, the Cisco Aero which is what I will probably try first. According to the seller this was used very little but was dropped once. Not much to hurt but the finish, will hit the wally-mart fingernail polish aisle up for touch up paint.

Just as an aside, Rob recommends the AW IMR batteries for a reason. They aren't exactly cheap, but will give you long life AND the best possible vape. They even handle low resistance atty/cartos gracefully and without complaint. There are very few "other brands" that perform as well and give the same vaping experience.

Depending on how much you vape, with a mini, you'll probably (guessing) go thru 2 or 3 batteries a day, I got 4 for my mini(s) and rotate them religiously. I still have a set of larger AW's for my grands that are over a year old and still quite usable. And that's vaping around 4-6ml of eliquid a day.

And don't forget, if you have any questions, this is the place to come. We all love our REOs and want everyone else to love them too, so we go out of the way to be helpful. You won't regret your purchase, welcome

My Reo arrived today and a couple first impressions after vaping on it for 6 hours...

The firing button...I really wish the spring was about three times stiffer, same complaint I have with the Vapage. I would prefer to feel some more resistance at the point it starts firing. I am scared to leave my thumb on the button at all as I find it firing just when holding it.

Feeding... I have to squeeze the bottle hard and take 5-6 really hard no power hits to pull juice into the atty...and three or four puffs latter I get dry hits...very unpleasant. I am using a Cisco Aero atty btw...not a cheapie. It is an atty designed for bottom feeding. I have been trying very hard to flood this mod and all I get is barely enough juice in it for 3-4 puffs.

Cover...very slidey, slips off very, very easily.

On the up side it hits as well as any of my 3.7 mods, size is nice and it is comfortable in the hand.

I just had a thought and yanked the reducer tube out, getting great juice flow now. I vape 50/50 and I was reading back through this thread and reread about the tube being for thinner juices. Makes a huge difference.

Glad to see you've got that part worked out. Now for the door...slide it down to the bottom until there's only about 1/4" of the door still in the slides. Then give it a twist....not so much that you crease the door, but enough to give it more traction. That should firm the door up for you.
