I took hubby for an extended visit with an Otologist (hearing specialist) today for testing and info on hearing aids. Bless him, he knew we were going to be there a while, so before we started all the tests, he asked me if I needed to get my pv out of the car. The Otologist asked me about it, and said his wife used a e-cig and that I could vape all I wanted while I was in there. I thanked him but assured him I didn't think I would need to. After about an hour though, I said I was going to vape a little if he didn't mind and he said "go ahead". It was uncomfortable for me! I tried to keep it light, I felt like hiding my pv and like I should be shunned to a corner somewhere. What a strange experience. What have the ANTZ done to us when we smoked!? I started analogs back in the 80's and used to openly smoke in public before it was banned everywhere. I had forgotten what that freedom felt like! The Otologist even used my vaping to test the hearing aids on my husband...and asked if he could hear me using the pv, since it is part of our home environment! I was so grateful to him, but hope I can overcome the stigma of "smoking" in public!

I sort of accidentally vaped in my doctor's office the other day. She's been trying to get me to quit smoking forever, and I was so excited to tell her I had, that I snatched my Ego out of my purse without even thinking about it and demonstrated right there! "LOOK! (puffpuff), isn't it amazing?" I think she was a little taken aback. But by the time we were done she got the name and address of the local vape shop from me, to tell other patients about it.

It was definitely nice to just say "I'm gonna vape" and do it! I had already been given permission. For the next hour it was out in the open, just like I was at home. After the initial "this is weird" feeling, it became more comfortable, and I had no feeling of "OMG, I gotta smoke!!!" It was a positive experience, I was sooo happy my hubby was so proud of my quitting smoking and that he endorsed my eCig enough to ask me if I wanted it, the icing on the cake was the Otologist telling me about his wife vaping! He even knew what I meant when I said "I'm gonna vape" and he said "go ahead". :) With time, we will all be able to experience this....ok, now I really do sound like Steven Dorff...."we're all adults here"! ;)

The biggest thing to remember about vaping in public is always make sure you have an extra 10 minutes for Q&A with smokers. I've been in a bar with groups of people around like i'm teaching a class or something. Makes you wanna open up a b&m sometimes.

Haha this is me at every bar I go to.

Toombstoned, we need more in Richmond! And if you are already educating people..... :) I have not been to Vapers Lounge yet, but really like Voltage Vapin' in Chester. Personally I think Short Pump or Carytown would be great places for a Vape Shop! Trendy yet stable communities. Or, at the Airport!!! I want to open one in one of the shops in the Airport, for travelers, and at the point they would get to the shop, they would already be past the security checkpoints. :)

I found an old photo with me smoking in my grandmother's house with her sitting right there on the couch talking to me. Photo was from the late 70's I think.

I smoked openly everywhere for so many years that it still seems unnatural not to be able to. I know, I'm old!

Sadly I don't believe it will ever be accepted in the mainstream like it once was with cigarettes. The ANTZ have conditioned the lemmings that anything that contains nicotine is bad, especially if it has some kind of visible output. It's happening every day all over the place, ecigs are being banned right along with cigarettes ... sad but true.

Consider joining CASAA if you haven't already!
