Poor guy - horrific
Wouldn't that make the news site providing the links liable? When little Tommy burns his face using the safety tips he read on channel 5.com?I agree with this. I don't expect an after school special on how to properly run a mech, but just simply stating a couple of quick facts would be nice. Maybe even asking new users to go to the news stations web site and have a link to an informative page. Steps like that can actually help people that do not know any better.
Due to popular demand, I believe You Tube pulled that video.God forbid they stumble across the video of that guy who needed a towel to hold his mod. Anyone remember that?
Because those never fail? They may also try to make it so only built in battery mods are sold.
Imo the manufacturer should have done this by putting the bare minimum of mech safety into their design. They "have to protect people from their own mistakes" ya know.

I mean it's current year ffs, how do pipe bombs that deserve that name still get made?

It wouldn't take much to make a "safer" mech mod design, and it wouldn't add much to the final costs. I'm always on the watch for one, but have yet to find one.I agree with you. The fact that not all mech mod makers don't seem to agree is exactly why the FDA regulate them.
It's not that I don't agree with you....it's simply that unless an ecf member decides to buy a TV station, it's never going to happen. Obviously, none of them vape or during the commentary someone would say something intelligent. All it takes is a quick, generic disclaimer to avoid any legal issues, just like every other company in this day and age uses. Sure, it may take a little effort to set it all up on their site but if it helps even one person, it is all worth it.
I just took it as a friendly conversation/debate. I love hearing all angles and views, so I didn't take it as an argument or anything negative. Sometimes I may come off a bit harsh, which is unintentional. I do see exactly what you are saying, I just wanted to bounce a few ideas that makes sense to me. I understand that it is highly unlikely for a non vape related business to try to actually help vapers, but one can dream, right? It's not that I don't agree with you....it's simply that unless an ecf member decides to buy a TV station, it's never going to happen. Would be useless with todays style of vaping. You'd need a thermal fuse (there's even mechanical ones), those can carry a lot more amps (from 1A up to a couple hundred A if so desired) and can be tripped by certain temperatures (like eg 80°C). They're one use only though and you'd need to change it after it tripped.Option to use a battery fuse
