Spent Sunday afternoon finishing my first mod, an 801 2 RC123A based, copper tube based on the Fog Log. Took longer to get the parts and tools together than it took to actually build it. I went with the 1/4" audio jack setup, not willing to sacrifice any working batteries for my first mod.

I'm very happy with the results! The vapor it produces is so warm and thick. Have been a little nervous about running at over 6 volts though, and plan to add a 1 ohm 2 watt resistor as soon as I can get some. The other thing I plan to change is the switch. The one I planned to use mounts from the top, and due to the 1/4" jack I couldn't access it to solder. Had to go with a lighter weight switch. Looking for a better option.

Over all turned out pretty well for my first (but not last) attempt.

Here's how it looks, be kind...

Good for klonking someone Neko !

What? Typo? Oh, i see ... ;)

If you add the resistor, try to use the heat it will generate by placing it in the air stream.

When I took it to work yesterday one of my co-workers asked if I was making pipe bombs. Enjoying the full 6 v right now, but I'm using primary CR123a's in it. My Tenergy's won't be here till Thursday.

I can't walk thru a store now without thinking about how I can mod this or that. Have the parts together to make a few other mods over the next couple weeks. Think the 510 nicobox is my next attempt...

Just can't stop with one, so over the past couple days did a couple more. And just found my next project at the hardware store picking up the right size drill for mounting the dura adaptor (11/64).

The DuraLog: 18650 battery, keeping it at 3.7v with this one, although I'll have to try 6 volts at least once.

And I had to do a passthru and decided to try warp1900's PVMA system, I've built an 801 adaptor already, but need to make it shorter.

Now if I could just get the moderators to change this thread's title to First Mods...

One per day ... catching up with warp !

As for the title - just the excitement, I guess; I can understand that :)
And I doubt you'll do it again ;)

Suits your hair, btw :)
