Hello again,

Well I've been keeping up with all the posts on the Ego-T, trying to pick up tips etc. One I wished I didn't was to try and adjust the wick by pushing it down...yeah I pushed too far and further still trying to pull it out. My drags were too dry and the suggestion to push it down seemed logical and simple enough but I should've left well enough alone which is my suggestion to any of you thinking about trying this method.

Anyway, since I figured the addy was history I tried something drastic to save it cause I hate to quit, it's why I was such a good smoker:laugh:. So I got a precision screwdriver and pryed the tip out that holds the wicking material, I didn't think it would come out intact and in one piece but it did. You could see the mega addy under it and it still fired when I attached the battery. After that I saw the wick had been dislodged from the sleeve and stuck it back in. Then I put the fixed piece back down over the addy. It took a little playing around to get it put in there right and I got some pliers out to squeeze the addy casing a bit to help secure it but it worked....I'm using it now... So I fixed it by breaking it..go figure.

I thought I might not have been the only one to make this mistake and thought I'd share my solution, try it and you might save your addy and if you don't you'll at least have a working normal mega so it won't be a complete loss.

Maybe some e liquid reviews next, I've been ordering a bit lately and as much as I've learned around here I should try and give back a bit.

Til next time,
Joe

Thanks for taking the time to explain your conclusions about the wick fiasco. I had the same issue, one tiny poke turned out to be more than it liked. I solved mine by hammering flat the tiniest tip of a dental tool (I can imagine a paper clip would serve the same.) then pinching the tip carefully with wire cutters to create a barb on the end. Then I went fishing down the puncture tube sliding the tool between the wall and wick and then hooked the wick with pressure against the opposite wall. Obviously if the wick were pushed all the way through this method wouldn't work.
Good Luck
