I keep reading all these wonderful solutions to these Starduster CracksBut I feel left out cuz I don't have any cracked ones to fix
I love my dusters and they just a keep goin strong

Mmmm... yeah.... See there, AG, I said exactly that - "my Stardusts don't crack" - a couple of weeks ago. Now they are cracking like crazy. Watch out!

oh wow. thanks for those links - last time i went looking for that ambroid stuff 20 bucks would have been a deal most was more idk i think the stuff was hard to find for a while or something. nice to know that the plumbing stuff will do the trick but the price is not too bad on the ebay one.

I did ebay too...$6.62 with shipping.
So....has anyone had any luck with the Ambroid? I have 5 tubes that I painted with the stuff all around the bottom...I can still "see" the cracks, but no idea of they sealed...haven't tried putting juice in them yet.

None whatsoever - I'm with you on that one. In fact, I think it's counter-indicated in most cases. LOL
Progress......had 5 tubes, filled them with water last night. This morning, 3 still had the water in them. Will try "painting" the other two one more time before I give up on them....and try some juice in the 3 today.

My tubes had multiple cracks around the base....so I just painted a half inch swath around the bottom. Initially, it looked a bit cloudy, but that went away after a couple days. No roughness.... I just put juice in one of them about 10 minutes ago....so far I don't feel any oozing of juice. Will report back in a few hours...

At this point I have small cracks around the base on at least ten of them, so if this works, that would be fantastic. Most of them are not leaking, but I figured I'd do this with them anyway, to prevent a problem. I'm going to do this as they run out of juice, one by one...
Just need to get more vodka for cleaning them first, I'm all out.

Been using one of them for 2 hours now....no leaking or oozing. This one had one long crack and 2 small ones. I'm thinking I'm ready to say it worked.
