My first guess is you let your cotton dry out.
This was on a fresh build and the cotton was wet and vaping pretty good. There's more to it. The Segelei Kaos Spectrum I got about 3 months ago has burned every coil (regular tank or rda) within a day or so of use. Wondering if that's a common problem? Maybe the two have something to do with each other.

My friend has the kaos spectrum. She called saying she coughs all the time and her teeth feel rough. I asked what wattage and she was using it at 80w. I told her to turn it down and she's happy at 40w now. Seriously people seem to think that a mod that does 200w plus should be vaped at that level. There was a video awhile back about a young foreign guy with his review of a new high power mod. It caught fire...was actually pretty funny.

It was .20 at 70 watts . My first thought was crap the Cotton's dry. It wasnt.
That sounds like way too many watts to me.

Just because your mod can vape at 80 watts or more, doesn't mean you should. I don't know what the flash point of e-liquid is, but if something is causing the wick and e-liquid to flame, then something is dangerously amiss.

Might want to read this thread: Ridiculously over-rated mods

Did you vape on 70 watts on similar coils before and this is limited to your new mod? It's possible that your new mod is delivering more power than you realize, but if it's happened before, I suppose an alternate possibility is that the device is not calibrated properly or something. I'd be leery of perhaps a mod that burned all my coils. With that said, every board converts the power a bit differently, perhaps 70 watts on your other mods isn't quite so.... fiery?

In any case, turn that sucker down. If that works, great. If you continue to catch your coils on fire in more than one tank, I'd say ah, maybe send the mod in for warranty.

But, I don't think you need the highest wattage in the world, so step one is to prime your new coil starting at 5 watts and working upward until you reach a satisfactory vape, which may be lower than you might think. Possibly.

Well, 10 watts then.

Hey, wasn't Siegel mentioned as having a run of bad mods? I cannot for the life of me remember, but perhaps the flaming atomizer is a sign. IDK, I mean yeah, all mods are slightly different, but perhaps not enough to catch a coil on fire even at 70 watts, that's not an exceptionally crazy wattage.

Maybe someone here will know, but the day my atty bursts into flames and it's not dry, I'm going to start to wonder if the end is nigh or something. Of course, I vape at an all powerful (I can now say 30 WATTS, thanks to my new Fusion kit, that's the lowest it goes, but I'm actually enjoying it).

But on my box mods, I'm at like 7--13 watts. I still think there may be something off, here.

Here is something that can Happen.

So you set your Mod at 70w and the build is 0.20 Ohms. Everything is Hunky Dory.

But one of the Post Screws holding down a Coil wasn't really very tight. And now it has worked its way out a Minuscule Amount from the Coil Wire Heating and Cooling.

Now, because of the Not So Good connection of the Coil, the Mod thinks your build is 0.6 Ohms. So the Mod says... "I better Bump up the Voltage a lot if I'm going to Output 70w." So it Does.

Only problem is the build Isn't a 0.6 Ohm Build. It's a 0.2 Ohm Build. But you get like 6.4 Volts rushing out of the Mod instead of the 3.7 Volts it should have been.

And then the Wheels Fall Off the Wagon.

Not say'n that this is what Happened. Only that I have seen it Happen before. And Flames and a Horrendous Dry it followed.

This was actually my mother's mod. We both use a Golden Armour rampage RDA. I have an osub king that I run at 80-95 watts depending on the brand of juice with zero problems. I think you're correct about this particular mod perhaps not regulating things properly. I figured I'd try some idea from the vaping community before having the hassle of returning it.

I suspected it was my coil build too. Owner from the vape shop inspected it. Said it looked good, no shorts . She's stumped too. Like another poster stated, it does sound like rice crispies. Super noisy.

    It's hard to say sometimes.

Could be that the Mod doesn't always read the Ohms Right?
Could be the Build was a Little Funky?
Could be something was Lose on the RDA?
Could be Sun Spots or stray Cuban Embassy Microwaves?

If the preheat is turned on, turn it off or set it to 0.
Like others mentioned, have you tried a (much) lower power setting? like start at 25-30w.

    Post screws tight?
    Using a fancy coil type?
One or more strands may have broken / shorted causing resistance fluctuation.
Are you using the appropriate mode for wire type?
510 connection points clean, shiny & dry?
