flange or no flange

can I use tank cartos that do not have a flange? I have IBTanks.

Yes, you can. Either type will work. I believe IBTank bottom caps have a recess now that will accomadate the flange if you desire, but un-flanged cartos will work just as well.

Thanks. I asked a vendor, and she wasn't sure. So, is the purpose of the flange to prevent leakage?
