I guarantee you, the looks has a LOT to do w/the popularity. The boutique vapers take one look at this thing and immediately dismiss it. And while it DOES look like a hydraulic/pneumatic connection fitting that could be connected to a grease gun, I also agree w/function over form every time so I'm buying one to see what I think of it. Whether it takes the place of my Aquas remains to be seen. View attachment 425642

I agree Jeremy, the German people are very mechanically inclined and the culture of seeing beauty in a well designed machine is different then American's who love eye candy. I have always appreciated how well German's design things, one of the reasons I was a VW, Audi & Porsche mechanic and drove VW's for so many years. I even married a German gal right from the old country and man can she cook!

I did look at them several times over the last few months, and hadn't even bought a clone to try. Partly due to the looks, and partly because people had told me the flavor was muted. The flavor certainly isn't muted so apparently those folks didn't build it well.

Sedge finally convinced me to try it, but I was saving up for one, and then a friend just asked if I wanted those clones like she read my mind, lol!

Awesome! I do like to try before I buy, and am so glad she sent me those. I definitely want a vs now. The v3 I still need more time with.

And the vs purchase will also require a mod that it will look nice with, so this means I need to save longer. I had a FT credit so I have ordered a mini Nemi clone to try. If I like it, then that will be the authentic mod I will get for it. If I don't, I'll have to rethink this one :)

I figured. Mine is built right around 0.9 as well. Does a 14650 run a little longer? I haven't even bought the batteries yet as FT hasn't exactly been able to always get what's on their site, which is why I had a credit to begin with. These mini Nemis were also "ships in 7 days", which means possibly never. So until they actually ship these, I'm not buying batteries.

I may like the Gus better. Since I had a Gus, I know I like the switch. I've never tried a Nemi, although I like Stingrays (well, not that happy my authentic one went kookoo on me, but I suppose rice pins wear out. I ordered a slew of rice pins so I'm prepared next time).

Oh, I'm also wondering if authentic Flash e's have any kind of logo or serial number? Do they come with an authenticity card or anything? My clones don't, and this is important in case a used one shows up, and I decide to buy that instead. One of my friends was sold a clone here represented as authentic when we were newbies :( So far I've been leary of buying anything used that has clones of it, or at least logoed clones.

The FlashEVapor has no serial number or card. The box is unique but easily copied. The clones I've seen IRL have wobble issues and the fit and finish isn't that great.

I just love the Nemi. I love the top cap connection, the battery adjustment and the switch. It is so efficient and hits hard. I can't see how a clone could compare. This mod has some brilliant engineering.

My clones don't wobble and the machining is pretty darn good, so not sure I would be able to tell. I don't know if any cloners are copying the box or not. And with my friend, the seller put the clone into an authentic box :(

Obviously I have no clue on the Nemis, but I can't find a single thing between my authentic and SXK Stingray to tell them apart. I just know which is which. I actually stole the rice pin from the clone to fix it. And I had to keep those switches well seperated to not mix any parts up.

That makes sense though. Different cloners make products of varying degree. Heck, even batches can vary. Someone here gave me the Erl clone, and mine is very nice. So I told people who asked that it was a good clone. Then others got good ones, and bad ones so I felt bad that some got crappy ones.

I do like Stingrays so I will probably like Nemis. My understanding is the switches are very similar. I know a lot of people hate Stingray switches, authentic or clone, but until the other day, I never had a problem with any of them, and have always found them easy for me to use. I don't have a lot to compare them to though :). I liked the first one so much, I've collected up a slew of them. And with what they've been selling for in the classies, I know as soon as I'm past the medical bill onslaught, I will probably buy more authentic ones. Don't be surprised if I end up with 10 by this time next year. I have 6 now.

So what is the authentic v3? 23mm on the nose?

I haven't calipered mine either and I couldn't find the info of the Flash-e site but just from feel with it mounted on my Flask, it is 23mm. I can break out the calipers when I get home this afternoon if you want specifics roxy.

You don't have to :). Just my curiousity.

Unless my calipers are off, mine are reading 22.83mm.

It will stop you from using your other atties for the most part. :)

Fev site says 23mm, clone specs show 22.9.

I bet the heavier knurling on the authentic makes it .1 bigger

Where did you find those specs for the authentic?
