Jax, not too long ago, many were using mesh straws to feed. How does the cotton cord compare to mesh?
I don't think he's used mesh feeder wicks yet, the mesh strips from Artur were too small to use.
I can't believe its working either.. I guess its that tight weave that keeps it tight together and straight with a little gap in the holes... And possibly the 1/16 air screw would cause more draw maybe.
Never really, they last for ever. I've had the same for about 6 months easily.
Unless it gets really cold where your at with high VG.. Then you may have to trim a set a little shorter in length,to give a little more wicking. Essentially the mesh will last for years. It can be rinsed and rerolled. Once its rolled it rolls back up easier.
I dont know what happened but mine aren't feeding after I took them out last night to 'measure'.. I think I went too tight in the hole.. Just rolled them a little tighter now so theres more gap. The gap around the outside I think is the key. Juice comes down the center - air goes up around the mesh.. Air has to get into the tank or you'll have a vacuum lock.
The trick to rolling it between your thumb and forefinger, is only apply pressure in the one direction to tighten, other direction to loosen
I did try it. Dry hits at low ohms.dems is correct pete. I haven't received my mesh yet. Member jpcwon offered to send me some. I'm beginning to wonder if I even need it as it is performing perfectly with the cotton cord. I'm quite shocked to tell you the truth.
sedge, I know you use mesh. Did you ever try it with the cotton cord? If so, can you give us a comparison?
Well I guess I can't get much better for a single coil Atty then..a v3 clone is in my future.. The FEV has been my all day every day for almost a year now, ever since I got it.
...
The popping is because the feeder s are right next to the coil and they are feeding enough to cover the coil in juice... This is probably where very thin tails going down may help control it.
Same experience here.I've tried tails going down to the deck and every time that's resulted in a black dried wick, at least for my rayon builds.Because we're feeding from the top, the juice just siphons down from the coil, drying it.
Yep stick with whats working, don't want to screw up a good thing.
I've always run tails without much issue. That way I can swap between dripper and tank.. However it may have made the need for more feeder adjustments to compensate. I can see how no tails would work great though.
You don't really need a bit to wrap the mesh on, it rolls itself perfectly IME. You just need to get the hang of it though.
Just use a paper clip or somethingWell, my mesh and Flash e's are here, but not my metric drill bits for wrapping the mesh. I'll give them a bath today and hope the drill bits come tomorrow. I have a lot of e cig maintence to catch up on anyway due to pancreatitis related illness the last couple of days.
