Flashlight Question

This might be staring right at me, but most durable looking flashlights seem to be made for at least 2 AA batteries. As 2x 3.7v or possibly 2x 3.0v batteries may blow out an atty, do you have to find a big spring to put in the bottom in place of the 2nd battery or is there an easier solution ?

I found a small hollow plastic tube laying around the house with the same diameter as a AA, I cut it down to size and crammed heavy duty foil into it. I guess you could call it a pass through battery!
