Flat top 18650, Button top 18650????

Can I use either in my Lava Tube???? I know the end cap doesn't screw on all the way but are they essentially the same???

I have received my AW 18650s today specifically for My L/T which hopefully arrives tomorrow !! These seem to be what everyone is recommending on the Forums here they are not flat on top they have a small button !! I have not really seen anyone recommend a particular brand of Flat Top battery for the L/T and I dont know what "brand" is supplied with the Kit version !! Would be nice to know if there was a particular Brand of Flat Top Battery which is suitable as the ones supplied seem to be unbranded OEMs

All I own is Protected AW's... I can't turn up the voltage on my Lavatube because it trips the censor on the protected circuit. I just ordered 3 more Protected batteries not knowing this until reading up on it on another thread..... So now I have to order some AW IMR's.

Most of the battery protection circuits operate at 6A so it is unlikely they not working as they should (unless there is a short circuit).

To clarify does the battery protection kick in or the LT protection ?

I don't know... If it's the LT or the Battery, If I vape at higher Volts the Lavatube will shut off and I can't get it to power on unless I reseat the battery connections again.

I read that it's probably the battery, I can't test if that's the case unless I get some IMR's. All I own are AW Protected....

FWIW devices will usually cut off before the batts. What atty are you using? Wrt button or no button they are the same.

It does seem odd.

Many tests I've seen will do a 5A discharge test.
