I've only mixed it once, and that was a year ago. 20% seemed a bit strong at the time...

I would try making at least 2 test batches, one at 10% and one at 15%.
Let them steep for a week, then test.
You could also blend some of the two samples together and try it at 12-13%.
This should at least get you into the neighborhood.

I usually mix the DK tobacco at about 10%. Its not a bad base flavor, but depending on my mood, I either love it or hate it. I find myself really craving the dry tobacco flavors more than the sweet ones. (I would consider DK a sweeter tobacco)

As far as steeping goes, the DK tobacco changes a little bit the longer steeped, but I enjoy it right after mixed as well.

illinoize
nicotine in pg 25%
pg 25%
vg 30%
PA DK 15%
PA (alcohol) Tobacco mix 5%

I've had both the DK & tobacco mix on hand for months so taste really doesn't change any further by aging. If using fresh DK the mix will change considerably over time, the aroma dissipates as well. It's lacking somewhat in throat hit imo. My next order to PA will include jalapeno, also I just read a recipe where they were using several drops of lemon juice to increase throat hit.
hope this helps

Question for you DK Tobacco diy'rs.... Opening the bottle with the dk tobacco from the flavor apprentice, I smell a LOT of CITRUS and a little bit of the nutty smell. Are you all getting the same aroma? I'm looking for the nuttiness aroma with no citrus if possible.

Sounds like your looking for an ry4 variation more then a DK .

Its not too "citrusy" as long as I stay around 3 or 4 drops per 10ml. I'm not after any tobacco variation really. Just experimenting. I think I like the Tobacco Blend (PG) from TPA better than their DK Tob base though. I absolutely love the tobacco hint that comes with Boba's Bounty though. The Tobacco Blend from TPA resembles it, but I'm missing a lil something... or a lot. :)
