Flavor that won't mix....

I bought some Root Beer from PA recently, and this stuff just won't mix....it remains separated now even after a week.

Any idea on how to deal with this? I've been shaking it from time to time, submerging in hot water, etc. Nothing seems to work, so hoping to hear some ideas on what might.

Are you using mostly VG?

Try mixing the root beer with some PGA first, then adding the rest of the ingredients later.

Ok, I looked up the ingredients on the PA website and it lists the following:

Ingredients: Natural and Artificial Flavors, Triacetin

Now if you look up what triacetin is this is what comes up:

Triacetin, triacetate ester of glycerol, is a clear, combustible and oily liquid with a bitter taste and a fatty odor. It is slightly soluble in water but soluble in alcohol and ether.

Since the base is Triactin, it wont mix well with all VG. Anything with Triactin needs to be mixed with at least 30% PG for the flavor to not seperate out PGA works also but you will need to stay in the 30% range there too. a high VG content will get you the seperation your seeing.

Ok that would make sense because I do use mostly VG in my mixes. Thanks all, helpful as usual.
