15% is where all my friends like it. I use 50/50 VG/pg and the more VG you use the more flavoring you need seems to be the consensus in here (although that's between me and Mowgli so it may be a biased consensus) (consensus)

Edit: by consensus, I was referring to how the more VG, the more flavoring

All my DIY mixes are 50:50 PG/VG. You can go any nic level to your liking.

I have one mixed at 15% and 20% with 50/50 for tasting. Hopefully it tastes somewhat like Oreo.

What is a good percentage to mix Cookies and Cream ? Has anyone made an Oreo flavor yet ?

Also going to order Skittles if anyone can recommend a good Percentage as well.

I always mix FW at 12.5% in 70/30 or 18% in 40/60

The 12.5% 70/30 works great for all FW the 40/60 needs a lil extra in a few flavors but 18% is a good starting point

oh man that didn't come out good ! haha time to try to figure somethnig out to make it taste a bit better.

If you mixed and vaped without giving it time to steep that would be no surprise.

How long did you let it steep? Did you let it aerate for at least 12 hours?

I'm not picking on you but most people can't stand freshly mixed juice without steeping/aerating it.

Thanks ECF
I mix my skittles at 15% 30pg/70vg. Tasted great right after mixing.

Has anyone tried the candy corn flavoring? I've had some friends request it, not sure if I want to give it a go, though.

I hate to say anything, since taste is so subjective, but I tried it (solo) at 15%, and it had no flavor to me.
You may love it.
I haven't tried bumping it up like you have to do with a lot of FW, so that's all I can contribute.

Now the "Candy Cane" at 15% is fantastic, a soft peppermint, and it's the only one that I found that might be better with a "tad" of sweetener.
I also like the Butterscotch 18%, Caramel Candy 15%, Ecto Cooler 17% (like Tang)
The Kahlua 16% Salted Caramel 18-20%. and the Vanilla Butternut 15% were all yummy
I'm still in the middle of solo testing each flavor I have, to determine the taste, strength, and what I think it will contribute to a recipe.
You don't want to see the list of the ones I didn't like  but I find that with every company.

Thanks! I got the request right after I placed a flavor order, and didnt want to order a solo bottle just for testing. ya know?

Ekto Cooler rocks! Orange, Tangerine and lemonade. Mmmmm. Predictably I made my at 20% and it is very good. One tip I always do with fruit flavors is to add a few drops of lemon juice per 10ml of ejuice. It helps. I read that somewhere from a vaper that sounded like he knew what he was doing and he was right.

As for steeping, I find that fruit flavors don't require much steeping at all. I just give the bottles a 10 minute hot water bath and shake, rattle and roll. Maybe steeping will salvage the FW Kiwi but I doubt it. I detect the dreaded floral/waxy taste & aroma but that may just be me. The TFA Kiwi on the other hand does not have that and it is very tasty right from the start.

Candy Corn sounds good in theory but I envision that it could be a sickly sweet mess, like Cotton Candy. Might make a good sweetener, though.

Happy vaping!

Nope, not a "sickly sweet mess" ... not overly sweet at all, just no flavor, (to me)
So, not good as a "sweetener".

The lemon juice works great on the fruits ... apple cider vinegar for the tobacco's and "darks", like chocolate .
The .09% saline has it's place too. .. it's all about the PH

So is the goal a neutral pH, or do you have any data related to that? I haven't focused on pH, but I have all the tools and testing equip to do so...very intrigued right now.

If you want to check your DIY balance get some PH test strips.
They are about 100 for a dollar or something like that.
Your e-juice should have a ph balance reading of between 6-8. ....6-8 is suppose to be optimal for best tasting juice

You put a drop of your juice on the strip and depending on the color when compared to the strip on the chart that comes with your pack of strips, you go ahead and counteract the reading...
Usually using pg sets it above 8 in which case you would use citric acid (lemon) to counteract it and bring it lower to the optimal of 6 - 8. this would be for fruits flavors.

Chocolate, tobacco, caramel and various other dark liquids might be lower then 6 and you would use maltic acid (vinegar, etc) to counteract it, to bring it back to 6-8

Also, you can use the "Ball" powder, if you do home canning
Ball brand would be with the canning supplies
1/2 teaspoon into 10ml of PG should yield an approximately 20% solution.
You would then use about 2 drops per 5ml of juice.

Or, .. just use the little yellow plastic lemon juice from the grocery store, or apple cider vinegar from the grocery store... they both do the job, depending on which way you want the PH to go.
I don't bother with mixing up the powder, as I have lemon juice, and vinegar in the kitchen at any given time :p

This forum is so hard to search; I've searched, I really have, but still can't find any solid info on 2 FW flavors I just received -- Sugar Cookie and Vanilla Cupcake. My intention is to try both with some other flavors, eventually, but I'd like to start with them as single flavors, to get an idea of how they actually taste on their own. I looked at the FW site, but they put "15%-20%" on everything apparently.

Can anyone give me a heads up on *actual* percentages that are good with these flavors? And, how sweet are they? Do they need additional sweetener?

thx much!!

I have sweetener but never use it...I would start at 12% and see if you want more flavor. 15% is where I mix all if their flavors with only a few exceptions being 12%. I have never mixed those two though...but I would start at 12 and see where that takes you.
Please let us know how it goes!

All my DIY mixes are 50:50 PG/VG. You can go any nic level to your liking.
