Flavour percentage in vg juice

hi can anyone or everyone who diys and vapes vg high juice recommend how much percent wise flavours I should add? I’ve been using 15 percent of solub arome, but not sure if that is too much?

For myself % used depends entirely on brand and how the flavor fits in the recipe. I use the same percentages regardless of base. Max vg just needs a longer steep.

I had to use close to max VG for a long time (PG sensitive) and yes, it needs a longer steep. Although, once I started using PEG400 instead, I found I really didn't need more/less flavor (and I typically steep 6 weeks sometimes longer) but that the flavor was sharper, crisper, etc. As I researched it, I did find that PEG400 is a flavor carrier, like PG.

I don't think UPPING my flavoring would have been a solution, honestly because it wasn't LACK of flavor exactly it was kind of this muting/muddy sort of taste to the flavors. Although I guess you could TRY a higher percentage and see what happens. I mean, do a set of testers at various percentages and get yourself in a ball pack or flavoring because honestly, at the time I wasn't complaining, so I didn't up anything but I remain unsure how much it would have remove the "muddy" effect (and also keep in mind, the more flavor percentage with MOST flavors, the more PG you will be adding, so that may have an effect.

Max VG*, zero nic, 2.5 ohm avg/less than 7 watts.: 15 % works most of the time for me. Considering the number of flavors used in a mix (~7) and low wattage/high ohms, 10 - 20 % flavor is about right for me.
I'm wondering if Sub ohm'g may be a different average % zone.
*Only PG used comes from the flavors (aroma's) in an rda.

Thanks, yup I’m pg intolerant, it was causing me problems with my eyes, so only pg in my recipes are the flavours... usually only use one or two flavours per mix. Thanks again

Draw style and coil would probably affect what your flavor percentage preferences are. I have no doubt if I went from my lower watts (23-30w) to high (over 80w) I would need to adjust a few recipes. Then again maybe not as my base would remain the same.

I'm limited to 10% flavors because most likely they're PG and I don't feel like keeping track of which flavors are what. I get enough flavor out of 10%. And if I don't I don't use that flavor.
It does tend to depend on brand, but also individual flavors.

Might try some Wonder Flavors or Real Flavors super concentrates. Average usage is 1-3%. FlavourArt is also generally used at lower percentages.

Inawera tends to be strong flavors that get used at 1%-2%.

It's not really cheap if you have to use 7x as much is it?

True, and I like INW for some flavors, but some are just too realistic for what I need.

It’s all trial and error. But, there’s more to diy than percentages. There’s also how long did it steep, what other flavors do you add, do you use sweetener? What’s your process?

The easy answer is to assume you mix like I do, carefully measure, understanding each ingredient, mixing the living tar out of it every day... in which case I’d say get another brand or walk away from that flavor. (there are a few I just cannot taste, after trying several recipes with several brands, and I just give up on them)

I see comments about wasting a couple bucks on flavors, I get it, but you can’t know until you try if it’s gonna work or not. If you invest now, you will save later. Even with all the loser flavors I’ve bought, I’m spending so much less than commercial juice it’s worth pitching a few duds.
