I just finished testing my first batch of 16 FlavourArt flavors and I thought I'd share the results. All flavors were tested in a blend of 70/30 PG/VG, no nic. I used a glass dropper to dispense the flavors into my mix (not the supplied rubber tip on the flavor bottles) for better accuracy. Prior tests revealed my glass dropper uses 25 drops to make 1 ML. I steeped my test bottles for 1 week. At percentages higher than I list below I started to get flavor drop off. Hope this helps.

Black Cherry 6%
BlackFire 2%
Breadcrust 2%
Cappuccino 2%
Carmel 2%
Catalan Cream 2%
Cocoa 4%
Dark Vapure 4%
Desert Ship 2%
Fresh Fig 2%
Fresh Cream 2%
Hazelnut 2%
Oryental4 2%
RY4 4%
Shade 2%
Vanilla 6%

What did you think of the Ry4 flavor? I totally agree on the Flavour Art ones I have tried- less is required because they are super concentrated and potent. 4% is plenty for any of their tobaccos and its even too much for Perique Black which is incredibly potent to me at 1 or 2 percent. I started with FA so I was shocked to find myself needing 10-20 percent for other flavorings. But what mattters the most is if you like the flavor. Being able to use low percentages does no good for a flavor you don't like.

Thanks for the effort. Please help me in my thinking.
Using your dropper at 25 drops = 1ml.
To make a 10ml batch , 10ml = 250 drops
At 2 % flavoring , I'd use 5 drops?
And for 30ml , 15 drops?
Thanks for the help. ZoeBoy

Download the ejuicemeup calculator it will figure it all out for you. All you will need to know is how many drops makes one ml on the dropper you use or better yet use a tiny syringe to get the flavoring out of the bottle.

Love Latakia, Perique and Dark Vapure at 10, 10 and 5% respectively. I'll make my next batches at half the strength and see what I taste.

Crazy that these lower percentages work for you guys.

The two big variables I can think of here are high percentage VG in my mixes muting flavor and requiring a higher percent of flavoring for balance (I use 40% VG minimum) and of course the good old "everyone's taste buds are different" ...

These %'s are per 1ml ? what would they be for 15 & 30ml's though, the same ? 2% caramel in say a 30ml's juice mix wouldn't cut it, just wondering your formula is for higher ML mixes

2% is 2% regardless of the quantity ;)

2% of 1ml is .02ml, 2% of 15ml is .3ml, 2% of 30ml is .6ml and so on.

Cyrus, I know, I've read many posts before I started regarding higher percentages for FA. It really had me wondering what percentage I should start my test.

I'm just curious, do you count the drops using the included dropper on the end of the flavor bottle? When I started my testing I tried that but found I couldn't get an accurate count cause the bottle is the clear plastic style, and would all of sudden squirt out a stream while i was counting drops. I did however determine that that the included dispenser makes really small drops. I started out trying to measure how many drops made up a ML, and it was way higher than my glass dropper that I used in my final test.

I'm wondering if that might be why some people find that higher percentages work for them, because the drops are so small when they use the included dropper. I'd like to know, cause in my test anything higher that the percentage I listed and the flavor started to drop off quickly. maybe I'm onto something?

That could certainly explain why people report what they do

But in my case I always measure with syringes (quite anally I might add ) or a graduated cylinder (place it in hot water so it runs thin and pour it into a dropper bottle for shaking/steeping). So i think my calculations are as dead on as possible, even though my juice isn't ;)

I could be way off base here..
We know that how individuals perceive flavor is...well...individual, but I think just coming off smoking your taste buds are so damaged that it takes more flavor to 'get through' than for someone that's been smoke free for awhile.

Granted, there are general flavor whores (no negative intended here) that like that punch of strong flavor, and the super sensitives that are more than satisfied with a level that might be perceived by most, and everything in between. BUT..when I first tried FA Catalan cream and FA Oba Oba (both delicate flavors) I could barely perceive a flavor there. Now...a month or so later I find them flavorful and tasty..even at lower percentages. My point in this Cyrus, is that maybe further down the road you'll find yourself happy with those lower percentages as well...

I have certainly noticed that certain flavors grow on me with time as I become more sensitive or attentive or both (add steeping to this and yeah, things def change)

And as far as my taste buds go, I def tend to like sledge hammer flavors :) In terms of food, I love strong sweets, strong spices, etc. In terms of booze, I love hard liquor (scotch, bourbon) either straight or with a dash of ice. In terms of old analog days I used to like unfiltered camels and pipe tobacco. So I'm willing to take a large portion of the blame here!

But I don't think my taste buds are fried anymore, just screwed up genetics. I haven't had an analog in months, and before I quit I was down to 4-5 a day anyway. But who knows!
