newbie here. have quickly discovered that filling blanks is probably the way to go for better flavor and higher nic. i have experimented a little with refilling my prefilleds using condom and direct dripping, and i seem to get them overfilled easily, which of course is a big nasty mess. i am using the premium 111 (which, best i can tell, is a kr808 automatic), and i am now concerned about how easily i might eff up my batteries. thoughts, advice, reassurance? how easy is it to ruin one? am i not refilling properly?

also, is a sealed battery better on a rainy day, for example?

I have a KR8 and I do not have any issues with flooding. I drip 5 to 10 drops at a time into a carto. Maybe 15 if it is a brand new blank. Then I let it sit for a while so the juice soaks in. I never let my cartos get dry enough to need 20 drops or more. If a carto starts tasting bad or drawing hard I switch it out to a refilled one. I fill any used ones at night so they can sit for the next day.

One thing I want to point out is that you should be dripping down the side of the carto as if you are pouring a beer. Tilt the carto to about 45 degrees and drip above the filler so the juice slides down the side into the filler. Do not drip directly into the hole in the middle of the filler material. If you do, the juice can come out of the other end.

If you are dripping into the battery end, it will take a long time to get 10 drops to soak in. I no longer use this method because it takes too long and if you go too fast the juice comes out of the mouth piece.

Slow and steady until the filler looks moist is the way to go.

This is great advice.
