Thanks for the Vid - Good work -

One question for everyone- I did the fluval thing and the teabag/coffee filters - Both work pretty well - I get about the same performance from the fulval as I do from factory fresh carts that have the similar material -

I noticed though that sometimes (about 2 out of 30 that I have in front of me) There is a DIFFERENT type of material that comes from the factory - It looks a lot like the Fluval in it's basic fabric structure - EXCEPT - It seems to be made up of many little strips that separate out from each other very neatly like sheets of paper - Looks almost like little PH test strips but is not paper - These are Janty KBC carts -

This stuff is THE STUFF! - Those last 3x than longer than the fluval type factory fresh ones - and wick down to the bone - I can barley squeeze a single drop out when it stops vaping - They are straight edged and do not fill the entire cart - This leaves the channels on the side to vent as the straw mod does - In fact the stuff itself has air channels in it due to the "stacked paper" nature of it's structure - It slips in and out great with no need for tweezers cause it holds it's shape and does not bunch up on itself - WHAT IS THAT STUFF? - It looks so familiar - But I can't figure out just what it is - I'm going to go to a fabric store and see if I can find something similar - I think that stuff is the way to go - Even on refills - Up to 3 refills now in one - It blows the fluval out of the water -

That is very interesting!! Could you perhaps take a close-up pictures of it?

OK - Here is pics of it -
I know I have seen this stuff B4 just not in such a small piece =
Could be quilting or some sort of backing material -I will find it -
It ROCKS! The one on the left has been rinsed and pulled apart so is much fluffier than before I played with it - The Juicy one on the right is how it looks when it comes out of the cart - Looks really juicy but is quite dry - Not even 1 full drop left in it - I squeezed out the first one and it was nearly dry - You can see in the side view that I pulled the layers apart - Like individual sheets stacked up -

Probably one of the best videos on how to restuff I had seen yet!

When I started vaping 7 weeks ago, I heard about Fluval and discovered when I got to the pet store that Fluval was a company name - NOT the name of the object I was seeking!! LOL When the girl asked me what I needed the Fluval for, since it clearly wasn't for an aquarium, I just told her it was a craft project LOL
Guess I wasn't too far from the truth; I was being crafty about refilling my carts! LOL

What I ended up getting was Fluval foam for the 204/205 & 304/305.
There were 2 'bricks' of this stiff spongy foam in it.
Not having a video, I sat down and just started cutting this stuff into little 'sticks'; what ever fit the cart. I heard about the straw a day or two later & started pulling out the filler, trimming it a little & popped them all back in. It took a little trial and error to get it compressed just right.

When dripping, if the top of the cart seemed a little too dry from being stored mouth part down, I'd just use a slightly straightened paper clip & push the filler down; let it get wet, then lift it up with said paper clip. It never really got compressed & just seemed to bounce back into shape.

Since it's time consuming for me to sit there and basically custom make each filler, after I saw the video, I ran out and purchased the Fluval polishing pad and made up a couple carts last night. Sure was a lot quicker and easier than the foam I had be using!!

What I also discovered, is that it's basically behaving the same as filler that comes with the carts; compresses/matts up easy and doesn't wick as easily, and even with the straw, the bottom still had a lot of juice left in it & I had to flip the filler around.
Granted, it's been less than a day that I've been using it. And with me, there seems to be a learning curve on everything!! LOL

I guess what I'm getting to here is -- has anyone used the Fluval Foam for stuffing?? and if so, do you have a snazzy way of cutting them to fit like the OP has??

Or, am I just a freak who found something that doesn't work for any other person on the planet? (well, at least they'll never run out of it!! LOL)

This could be similar material to what dentists use for saliva absorption when they need to keep certain area dry while working on it. They can come in different shapes and sizes and are often rolls that feel semi-hard because they are compressed with this material. Do we have a dentist or anyone working in dental office on this forum?

No - I know what you mean - But I don't think it is that - It's hard to really get a good pic of it - It's so small - That dentist stuff would probably hold onto the juice too much it sucks stuff up like a little SHAM-WOW - lol - I'm pretty sure it's some sort very common fabric that comes by the yard - I will go to fabric store tomorrow - Bet ya I find it :)

EDIT: Ok I did not find it in our local fabric store - But they said they were pretty sure the one in the city would have it - They did not know what to call it but agreed that it was some common form of quilting or lining material - Not gonna burn half a tank of gas just to go find it today - I'll check next time I have another reason to make the drive - :)

Good sherlocking! Please keep us posted if you find anything. Did you ever open up a filter from analog cig? I did that today and it looks somewhat similar to what is in your shots. As far as I know analog filters are made mostly from polyester fiber and the one I looked at can separate to almost see-through layers. I need to play with the right size and thikness of it, but I am trying it now in 510 mouthpiece and it works really well.

I think the people at the fabric store probably meant "batting." It comes in all different thicknesses and can be made of cotton or polyester. I've used it in the past when reupholstering furniture, and was wondering if it would work as cart filler too, so if you try it please let us know how it works :)

Edit: Wanted to add my TY to the OP for this video - it was really helpful when I decided to start refilling my own carts!

Ok - I found something very much like it - Well - I found one thing exactly like it but it was flame ......ant so I did not want to get it - The one I did NOT get was a quilting stuffing -

The stuff I did get was called interfacing (ding ding for the previous post sugesting that) - It is 100% poly - non treated - It comes by the yard ($3.00/yd) A yard is a LOT - The difference is it is only about 3 layers thick - I cut it up into several strips and stacked them - This gave me something almost identical to what I posted - It works pretty well - Not as well as what was in the cart but I think that is just due to me getting the cut and stuff right - The draw is very nice!

I also picked up some Organza as I saw suggested earlier - That stuff works REALLY well - Just rolled it like a teabag - It does not hold quite as many drops as a tea bag - But it gives every drop back and it looks like it can be rinsed and reused many many times over -

So there ya go - I've now got Fluval - Organza - And the interfacing - Gonna keep trying all 3 till I find a fav - It may well be that Organza - it's pretty impressive and way cheap - Oh yea - I was at a faric store - Hancock Fabrics -

So fun, and funny, our trips to pet stores when we don't have any pets, fabric stores when we don't wouldn't know organza from double-knit polyester, quick peeks into the drawers at the dentist's office.

(I do know fabrics myself -- I'm a seamstress, among other things.)

I just love all the ideas here!

And the grumpster, thanks for that video. It was really good! I love seeing the up-close-and-personal details of this tiny handi-work we're doing.

LOL- I'm no stranger to a fabric store - I've done set design and special effects for years - I never called it Organza - But I've made quite a few ghosts and window dressing out that stuff - I called it Bride's Veil - LOL - But yea - It's a McGyver kinda thing - :D - I peeked in my dentist's drawers long before I knew about vaping -I bet you did too - there's cool stuff in there!

Now if we could just come up with a better name for it - I really hate "vaping" - sounds too much like "vamping" and that it should be done while wearing somthing silky and bright red - sadly I must admit I haven't thought of anything better -

But I did spot some lovley bright red silky fabric today - - - - -

Yea there are lots of different kinds of analog filters - acitate - cotton - First thing I tried - It hold the juice and don't let it go - I poked a hole down the center with an ice pick and for the first 5-6 draws it was AWESOME - then nadda - It just locks the juice all up in itself - Now that I got all this though - I got the JantyStick and I mostly drip now anyway - so I don't really know why spent so much time on this little search -
