I give up on this until someone finds a good way to get it to wick. I get good results for 5 minutes then it feels like I'm either vaping cotton juice with cotton wick or full flavor when I have a puddle of juice in my mouth from SS..lol.. I'm not a noob I just can't win. Once someone comes up with a good solution I'll definetly work on it again. Help!

I get what you mean man!

Yes the last peice unscrews I'm sure of it. I did it on one of them..
Grrrr my Mrs dropped my SVD on the floor glass has hairline crack..... Not happy bunny.....

When you get a chance, do you mind getting a picture of the two separated pieces? I couldn't get anything to budge last night and I don't want to take pliers to it and scratch up the ss pieces.

This is working pretty good, 2mm ekowool, 7/6 wrap of 32awg kanthal for 2.2ohms. 7.5watt on my SVD. Comparable to my protank builds with more/adjustable airflow. Typical ekowool taste though; will try stainless next. No leaking anywhere and I did use the silicone o-ring between the wick and chimney cap as well as the little o-ring under the 510 pin. So far I am very happy :vapor:

I tried it on another one and like you said it didn't budge. Either its screwed on really tight or its not meant to be taken off. i'll try again when I get some more in.

Post your results with SS please and good luck :)

Will do, might not be until later this evening. I filled up the tank about half way and want to make sure this is going to wick well the whole through the whole tank and not leak. However if I run into problems, its gettin dumped and re-wicked in ss mesh. Already have a 400 ss mesh wick rolled up and oxidized. It's a little fat and will trim for a snug fit.

Pulling cotton through a pre coiled wire already set up in the base is doing the trick right now. Oring over the wick has cured all leaks. I will probably use less cotton next time, because its not wicking SUPER fast like other the other cotton wicked setups I have, but its still a great vape.

From RIGHT to LEFT (sorry about order), pre coiled, test fire (to make sure insulator wasn't getting all melted), pulled cotton and laid oring over top to hold wick down, trimmed wick with cap on. :)

Well the 2mm ekowool couldn't wick fast enough for me. If I took it slow it was great. I may have wrapped the coil a tad tight as well.

Now have a 2.2ohm coil on ss mesh and so far so good. As you can see in the pic, I had to wrap the coil backwards from what I normally do. Left-handed wrapping if you will. Normally I hold the wick and wire in my left hand and wrap to the right with my right hand. I wanted the legs on top and away from the rubber/silicone insulator on the bottom. This allowed the ss wick to sit in the channel straight with as short of legs as possible. I think I'll rock the ss mesh for a while. It seams to be wicking much better than the ekowool, but that could have been because I wrapped the coil fairly tight on the ekowool.

The wick is 400 SS Mesh. I rolled up a fairly large one then kept removing mesh until it sat in the channel snug. The wick was rolled tight and I'd guess about a .25mm hole through the middle. Wasn't solid but pretty darn close.

I think your right, its a version 1. so is the pyrex the only upgrade in the v-2? I still haven't messed with it yet but the ss mesh that came with it set -up already looks about the size of my 3/32 fc's that I still have before they discontinued them. if still to thick I could probably sand them down a tad.

Hi vapdirr,

no, the V2 also has airflow control and an adjustable center pin :)

Are the pics showing now? I think they are but the order is out of whack.... Look at them from right to left.

I may be chiming in too soon, but the lack of SUPER fast wicking I mentioned earlier may be resolved. I didn't trade the cotton out after vaping through the first tank. However I removed the glass and trimmed the exposed cotton FLUSH to the metal housing with some finger nail clippers (strictly used for clipping vape stuff and not human stuff). Therefore, there is no cotton being "mashed" against the glass when the tank is reassembled. Upon viewing the the setup, its hard to even tell there is a wick in the "hole". The look of this rebuildable is nice. I'm looking forward to others sharing their setups. I have some SS mesh and want to give it a go so I'll be eyeing this thread for a while.
