Only trick is to make SURE you fill the channels or right behind the channels just right for your wicking material. With mesh, its making a roll just big enough to fully fill the slots and get properly mushed in by the chimney cap (and without using the chimney O-ring). If that's done just right, it virtually will never piss itself if you fill it properly (close off AFC, hold the chimney tube with a finger, fill through the fill hole, close the fill hole, flip, and open AFC and release finger at about the same time).

With cotton/ekowool, you really just need to make sure you have enough a little bit in and lots right behind the channels without packing it too tight so it can still block excess and wick properly.

Was deciding between a Fogger V3 and a kayfun clone over the weekend. Went with the fogger. Washed away the machine oil and removed the stock ss mesh build. Confidently made my first build of microcoil with cotton. Fogger ...... all over me. May have not used enough cotton. Went on youtube. Followed the Pooh build. vaping heaven.

This is, with all honesty, the best atomizer I have ever tried. I have no complaints...nada.

Now I'm afraid of having to replace my build. lol

Can you link to the vid please?

Totally happy with the Fogger! Going to unload (clean, coil, and give away) this HCigar Kayfun. Don't like to collect stuff. The less to tried me down in any aspect of life isn't need!
(Just need the woman to keep me down!)

Well bit my ....! Lovin' this HCigar Kayfun 3.1, the cotton positioning was the hardest aspect of finding a nice vape. Good bye Fogger for now.

I re-read my post and I think I came across as overly dismissive of the Fogger. The V2 Fogger was my first foray into these styles of rebuildable tank systems, and I think it was good prep. For a while, I had two V2s running pretty smoothly, but it always took a lot of trial and error.

The Taifun is just so much more simple.
And I'm a simple kinda dude. ;)
(well, most of the time. I DO like a challenge, but I also like to know I can always fall back on a reliable atty, including various gennys)

I see some are using VV/VW devices...
I'm looking for a build for a Sig 19 mech mod using with sony vtc5 18650.
Have 27,29,31 kanthal. Assuming 2mm ID.

Will work on cotton stuffing(dry hits) but for now I'm trying to find a good ohm to start.
Nothing too hot but want to experience some good vapor eventually.

Can easily get great vape on my evod, protank, iclear built coils if experience is in question.
Notice the power of the mech mod is much different than VV/VW device.
And trying to find out if RBA /mech mod is for me.

So far only read a couple pages forward and 10 pages in reverse.
Also I had no problem at all getting my coil in Fogger.
But maybe 1 ohm is not a good place to start? with wick issues on top of that.
Thanks.

I use my fogger v3 on a full mech mod.

0.9 ohm 30 guage microcoil and cotton. Haven't had wicking issues.

Months later...finally rebuilding after my first successful build. I was worried about with all the trouble I'd had learning it(two tanks worth lost through the airholes). That first build was cotton ball through the coil and alllll around in the chamber to prevent leaks. Worked well for a few months of occasional use.

Now for a rebuild. This time a 1.3 micro coil with doubled 1mm ekowool inside. First build, fail. At least it didn't leak, but it also didn't wick. Rebuilt without the silicone O ring under the chimney, leak city. Then I added a little cotton around the ekowool, just inside the chimney in the hopes of preventing leaks while not using the silicon o ring. Worked like a champ! Fog city!
