Uh oh .... Joe - thanks for sharing that I can relate! I errr ... feel kinda dumb here - but I ALWAYS breathe in to my lungs - just like a cigarette ... Is this supposed to be the exception usually as opposed to the rule? I feel dumb asking - really - but am I doing myself some kind of harm by inhaling versus just letting it sit in my mouth??

It's been three weeks for me analog free. I'm so happy i decided to give vaping another try. I had tried the green smokes about a year ago and stuck with them for about a month. The batteries only lasting 4 hours no matter what just killed it for me. I would find myself out and about for a full day and with out any power, Which in turn would send me to the nearest store to buy smokes. A friend of mine started making juice and turned me back on to it. With my MVP in hand I'm never with out power for a day on a full charge, even longer. I could feel the effects of my breathing changing right away. Running up three flights of stairs from the subway would leave me gasping for air, Never really feeling like i could catch my breath. A week in, and I feel a 1000 % better. And it only gets better ever day.

Another tip I can give you that is working for me immensely that epicdoom didn't say is this.
When you do smoke keep your e-cig / mod whatever you use with you and when you are taking a few hits
off your cig take a couple vapes off your e-cig aswell. When you smoke or vape both together you slowly notice
how much better vaping taste compared to smoking.

I am not saying this will absolutely work for you but it did for me. In a weeks time i was down to 2-3 a day.
Don't force yourself to quit smoking either cause that could make vaping work against you. Just look at it as something
you would like to pick up or do as a hobby and slowly but surely you should start to curve away from them cigs.

I'm a little late to the party, but I agree with this line of thinking. I did a modified version.

Like epicdoom said, you've got to want to quit first. With that in mind, every time I craved a cigarette I made it a point to take a few pulls off the ecig first. Like JayC said, it gets to the point where I would smoke the cigarette & think, "What's the point?"

Not at all you should inhale. The only reason I let it sit in my mouth was to absorb the Nicotine, At that time I was unable to inhale the vapor it would put me into a coughing fit. I also will let the vapor sit in my mouth or lungs a second or 2 longer to help insure I absorb the nicotine when just normal vaping isn't curbing my cravings.

Andria,

Very true statements. I have been vaping for 5 weeks now with no "Stinkies". I knew the next day after buying my first setup that this is it. I feel it go in and come out. Just like analogs. I have never truly been that motivated to quit, just knew I should and wish I could. I vape way more than the same amount of "puffs" from a cig. Worried...no. Still having fun with a new toy. I now can be a part of life again. Don't stink, stand outside, looked at with distain by "Nons". Will I quit vaping? I would like to some day, just not today. I will never go back to cigs again. If I have no e-cig and crave...I will chew on a rock or broken glass first. I feel that I could resist till I can vape again. Never been this smoke free for this long. Life changing to say the least. I'm with you 100%...."Oh by the way...which ones Pink?"

It took me awhile, about a month from when I first started vaping; I put no pressure on myself, because after all those failed attempts to quit, I had no particular expectations that this would be any different. I was shocked and amazed to see how few cigarettes I was smoking after 2-3 wks of vaping, and I was appalled at the taste of them, after my palate began to clear -- like breathing in the smoke from a pile of burning leaves! In the last week of Feb, I was down to 3, then 2, then 1 a day for 3 days, so I figured I might as well just quit the stupid things, instead of pulling off a bandaid one hair at a time.

"Wish you were here" is my husband's fave Floyd album, and that song was "our song" when we first started out, but you can keep that nasty cigar. :D The Wall is my own favorite -- probably know 99.99% of the words to it ("13 channels of $h*t on the TV to choose from, choose from, choose from...") -- but it's closely followed by Momentary Lapse, and two songs on it really "speak" to me -- "One slip, and down the hole we fall"... as a recovering alkie, that single line says volumes. And "Terminal Frost" is possibly the greatest piece of music I've ever heard; I've told my son that at whatever obsequies he holds to mark my demise, I want that song played. Love that sax, it gives me goosebumps to hear it, love how the instruments play off and echo each other's melodic lines.

One thing I found that really helped me. After only a couple of weeks without cigarettes and tobacco in general taste absolutely disgusting. No way I'm going back to that. It's even easy for me to associate with smokers as well, knowing I don't need to smell like that any more ;)

My vape of choice is a natural Anise flavor. Not only does it give a strong flavor-hit, it also acts as an appetite suppressant, hopefully counteracting the weight gain associated with leaving the tobacco behind (I'll know in a couple of months)

Today marks 4 weeks since I put down the analogs. this is my last day on 12mg nicotine Tomorrow I'll be dropping to 6mg in keeping with my goal to drop 6mg each week till I'm at 0 Nic. I hope to do as well at 6mg as I have at 12. I'm fast approaching my appointment with my heart doctor, it will be nice to tell him I'm a non smoker. I have met some great folks on here and want to thank everyone for there kind words. I am as committed to helping others quit smoking as I am to staying away from it myself. I hope everyone is having a great Easter day. I know I am as I'm sharing it with my Wife and kids as well as my new Grandson, who it the main reason for my decision to stop smoking.

Hey guys!! Newbie here Hahah I was wondering what mod would be Good for a starter, I'm still on cigarettes since I haven't gotten a vape.... I smoke 1 1/2 pack a day and wanna switch to vaping soon

I would highly recommend the iTaste vv/vw v3... it was my first after getting tired of arsing around with cigalikes, and I liked it so much that 2-3 wks later, I bought a 2nd one in a diff color. That link above is just for the iTaste and the charging cable, the express kit, because trust me, the iclear16 tanks that come with the full starter kit are pretty much crap; you can get the iTaste w/charger for $30, and buy whatever topper you like for it -- the Kanger T3S or MT3S are excellent, much better taste than any of their Protank whatsits -- I have a Protank II Mini, and a Hypertank2, and neither gives the amount of flavor that the T3S tanks do.

Good luck... and welcome!!

I'm new to vaping but I got the itaste Vtr as my first mod since I already had 18650 batteries and charger. It came with an iclear 30s and now I also bought an aerotank and dripper for it. But my favorite is still using the iclear with it since it gives me the best throat hit.

You like that VTR? I think it's about the best looking of all the box mods, looks kinda "steampunk"... Now that I have the high-drain batteries, at some point I might consider getting a VTR.

I also have the VTR its an awesome mod hits very well at 12W 4.5V, on the iclear 30S I get massive clouds from it. and great flavor. I also like the Itazte SVD and use it pretty much exclusively, its set at the same setting as my VTR. I'm using an Iclear 30B tank on it and get nice vapor and good flavor. That said, If you want perfection IMO, get the VTR and use the Kayfun 3.1 with a 1.2 ohm micro coil wicked with cotton. From that set up I get BIG vapor and the best flavor of any other System I own. Its my favorite set up. this is all IMO

I've looked at the kayfun, as I ramble around the web looking for different rba/rda tanks, and I like its brushed-stainless finish, it would look spiffy with my sigelei... but I just HATE that driptip, it looks like a baby-bottle nipple or something... and apparently it's necessary, you can't use some other 501 drip tip. If it would just let you use another driptip, that would be the one for me, but I can't get past that. And all the other rba/rda tanks I've seen are shiny polished stainless, would look odd with my brushed-stainless sigelei. I keep looking, though; maybe something will pop up.

I want an RBA tank, mainly. Haven't really gotten into dripping, since all I have are the cheap lil joyetech 510 atomizers. But now that I'm learning to rebuild these T3S coils, I know I could handle one of the *real* rebuildables, I just don't really want one that's just for dripping. Found one that could go either way, use with a tank, or without as a dripper, but it's shiny polished stainless too. *sigh*

Andrea my love, you can use a 510 drip tip. The unit comes with a screw in adapter that allows all your favorites to be used. One of my local shops has them and compared to my Authentic one, its a very good clone. It is however $50, but I see the same one there selling on a site I found for $25. I can link you the site if you like.

Ok just an update for me, its been 4 weeks 1 day smoke free. I'm today using 6mg juice down from 12mg and feeling GRRRRRRRRRRREAT. I had thought I would just try giving up all Nicotine next Monday. Talked with my Primary care Doctor today, and was Advised to continue to wean down. So Ill be going to 5mg 4,3,2,1 till I'm nic free. This advice was due to my inability to quit in the past. I got a lung X-ray today and am looking forward to my next one in a month. She said my lungs already sound clearer then in the past, and I'm on the rite track. I'm glad I found this Doctor, she is willing to listen and not a stick up the azz type, most doctors are.

My doctor stopped lecturing me years ago, guess he figured it was a waste of time -- which it was. But when I saw him in January, just before I found this place and jumped on the vaping train, I told him that I was going to make a serious effort with e-cigs, to try and finally get free of the real ones, and he was extremely encouraging, said he'd heard good reports of them from other patients. The office visit went on, and I figured he'd forgotten as he heads for the door, but then he turned his head and said "good luck with the e-cigs, I hope they work as well for you as for some of my other patients." So there's an intelligent man, who understands that getting free of cigarettes should be attempted by any means necessary, because *nothing* is as bad for your lungs and overall health as cigarettes -- well, maybe drinking drain cleaner. :D

I think your doctor is very wise, to advise you to take it down slowly; it gives your body a chance to accommodate, so you'll be less likely to relapse, or be really miserable -- I think we all know that quitting is not the hard part, STAYING quit is, which is why I most likely will never quit vaping. When you do get down to 0mg, I think it would also be a good idea to continue with that for a while, and apply the technique I objected to in your first post, gradually weaning yourself from the *experience* -- to me, that's the hardest part. Even if one day I decided to get nicotine-free (most unlikely but it could happen I suppose), I'd still carry on vaping, just to make sure that in a weak moment I didn't succumb to the old habit, that old habit is so very tenacious.
