I'm pro when it comes to finding good deals/freebies/samples etc... Granted it is harder to procure them here in Canada.

BUT I just received 1L (yes... ONE LITRE!!!) of the highest quality PG AND VG "samples". I honestly was expecting about 250mL, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Now, you're probably thinking 'Damn...Gritti is a Genius' and while I'm flattered, the truth is its just a matter of a little investigating, persistence and patience.

So here's the low down on the deets so you all can partake in my freebie fortunes:

I went to the Charles Tennant and Co. website- Charles Tennant (Canada) Co. Ltd. - back in June and requested samples. It took a few weeks to hear anything back but someone emailed me asking the intended application of the products. My general response is that I have a small business in personal care products. That answer seems to keep them happy. So yesterday I receive a parcel that was exceptionally heavy for what I was expecting and... BAM... Santa came early! It was definitely worth the wait :)

Hope this helps some of you as you venture into the world of DIY. I wouldn't recommend using this particular company for personal amounts of PG/VG cuz 1L is a ridonkulous amount of juice.

That's a great idea! I was thinking about trying DIY one of these days, maybe this could be an idea!

First off, if you think you'll have more then you'll need, I would help you with that burden.

Secondly, can you link specifically to the exact PG and vg that's best for vaping applications please!

Nice find man, enjoy!

Chinner,

VG is commonly referred to as Glycerine. They carry 99.7% USP which is food grade, not chemical grade. I can NOT stress enough the importance of not using a chemical grade anything...these products are not designed for human consumption in any way. Also if you're purchasing glycerine at a pharmacy or anywhere else READ the product label....if it says for external use DO NOT vape with it. It's not worth the risk when there are safe alternatives right? I work in a laboratory and have a lot of experience with chemical, so I'm not talking out of my ... here. I promise.

PS...I'm a woman ;)

Hey man! Sorry, lol... I call my gf man and dude sometimes too, wasn't implying that someone of your genius had to be male haha..

This is the one I requested, Product Details: Charles Tennant (Canada) Co. Ltd.

You are a genius lol, I'm absolutely impressed! I'm pretty sure you'd have to work in a lab to have even heard of this place. Can I ask you how long will these products last if they shipped to me and I had them stored? Also if you could pm me maybe about a reliable source to purchase some of the other ingredients, I'd be grateful!

Thanks for the amazing tip. I was going to wait before trying DIY, but if this works, bring it on!!

No worries dude. You requested the right one and shelf life is about 1 year for PG and 2 for VG.
I had actually never heard of this supplier...all hail GOOGLE! As for other ingredients, there are lots of online sources that offer the flavor concentrates but I have found that Bulk Barn of all places has the exact same (LorAnn) products at great prices. Just make sure you read the bottles... don't buy any that contain oils or anything other than PG. Rookie mistake that I made myself. I have also seen flavoring at Home Sense and Michaeals. As for that one special ingredient... I'm still working on that. Hope this helps.

Sorry, but I just have to jump in here... The 'V' in VG stands for Vegetable... so please make sure that is what you are getting when you place your orders... :) (also for the reasons mentioned above)

Just a couple things I should clear up...

Chinner,

VG is commonly referred to as Glycerine. They carry 99.7% USP which is food grade, not chemical grade. I can NOT stress enough the importance of not using a chemical grade anything...these products are not designed for human consumption in any way.

You've got it backwards. It's Glycerin USP (or Glycerine USP, same thing) that is commonly known as VG. Whenever you are buying VG, you have to make 100% sure it says Glycerin USP or Glycerine USP on the packaging or the manufacturer's website. If you're getting it from a vendor who repackages it, make sure they are using Glycerin USP. If it doesn't use that exact terminology, DO NOT VAPE IT. Even if the bottle says 100% Pure Vegetable Glycerine, don't vape it unless it's Glycerine USP or Glycerin USP. The stuff that you linked is okay to vape, since it's listed as Glycerine USP on this page: Food Industry: Charles Tennant (Canada) Co. Ltd.

Also if you're purchasing glycerine at a pharmacy or anywhere else READ the product label....if it says for external use DO NOT vape with it. It's not worth the risk when there are safe alternatives right? I work in a laboratory and have a lot of experience with chemical, so I'm not talking out of my ... here. I promise.

Actually, that's not true. As long as it says 'Glycerin USP' or 'Glycerine USP' on the bottle, you can vape it regardless of what else the label says. For example, the Glycerin USP from Shoppers Drug Mart says 'For External Use Only' on the bottle, but it's totally fine to vape because it has the magic words 'Glycerin USP' on it.

Whew, I didn't think I would ever type the words Glycerine USP that many times in a post. :p

You're right about one thing though, the LorAnn flavorings at Bulk Barn are great. Here's a link to a comprehensive list of which ones are safe and which aren't: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...rs-color-coded-complete-ingredients-list.html

Thank you very much for the info! I'm sure I asked for the right stuff! Now comes the part where I wait and see if this works!

Question to the op, do they call or email you when asking specifics about the application, or will they just ship it out? Should I prepare a pitch?

They just email you, no worries.

Bulk Barn has LorAnn's? Oh, damn, now I gotta find me a bulk barn. I've got a bunch of flavour places bookmarked (FlavorArt, LorAnn, Capella, Perfumare's/Flavor Apprentice, etc.) but if I can find some of them locally, I'm there.

As for this sample -- this is really, really tempting. I'm just worried they'll try and follow up at some point with a bunch of sales pitches and spam.

EDIT: Missed the post, so they just E-Mail. Iiiinteresting. I might have to put in my own request, too.

I stand corrected.... I think? I thought that's what I was saying but I suppose I guess it depends on where your expertise lies. Working in a laboratory, it's commonly referred to as Glycerine.

Regardless, I think we are sending the same message just using different lingo.

Having said that, MY personal feeling on vaping drug/local store Glycerine is unless you know EXACTLY what you're buying (full list of ingredients, MSDS etc..) then it's best to just avoid it and opt for a safer product. Unfortunately not everyone will go searching for the necessary information on a manufacturers website etc... and my concern is that newbies might misinterpret, that's all.
