1. The ones that look like a cigarette. don't buy those cheap little looks like a cigarette ecig with the glowy end. They rarely work (i.e. help you quit-you try them, you don't like them, and you just discard the idea of
vaping altogether), the cartridges cost more than
juice, and they also hit strong at first, then give you smaller doses later. You must buy the maker's cartridges. The battery is ..... It makes much more
sense to spend a little more for something that works.
Pretty white trash, too.
Wow. Rude.
3. Mechanical mods: No electronics or tank. A battery, a case,
a squeeze bottle that feeds juice directly into a carto or atomizer.
Not all mechs are bottom-feeders.
5. Variable volt/variable watt vv/vw APV. These are the Ferraris of the vaping world at this time. But don't be scared of the analogy, because these are as almost as cheap as the eGo twists you will eventually want to replace! There are buttons which control the power going to your cartomizer, changing the strength, size, and even the flavor of your vape.
Variable volt is fading, because you need a chart and/or do math to get the right settings. So if you go this route, most new stuff will be variable watt. It's all automatic. You can under/over power it, but it's not too difficult. Rule of thumb: keep it between 3.6 and 8.5 watts. 3-6 volts/3-15 watts/2200 mAH 2 days.
No. Just no. You don't NEED anything. You dial in the voltage for the perfect vape for YOU.
