Kelly,
Hello and welcome to ECF. You will get tons of great advice. My advice would be to find a tank that works for you on your current battery. I wish I would've found Bad's why Provari blog after my first set up died. It would've saved me hundreds of dollars and hours of chasing the mail man. Until I bought my Provari I was buying a mod a week. I have a vape drawer full of them. Many with stripped threads, some that were dropped and died, some that got wet and died and some just died.

My Provari has been swimming and dropped numerous times. The worse was from a motorcycle going down the freeway at 75 mph. It has some serious road rash but it's in my hand not in the dead mod drawer.

More advice! Don't waste money like I did. When your current set up dies and you want to keep vaping....Go Provari!

I have found videos on cleaning every tank you can imagine EXCEPT the iclear 16D....any ideas on why that is? Should it not be cleaned?

the tank itself is straightforward; just give it a rinse or soak in hot water; its the coil that really needs to be cleaned.

a miniprotank2v2 is built to be taken apart for cleaning; same for the newer miniaerotank;

the iclear16d you'd have to soak I guess;

There have been lots of plastic tanks out there and they are good for getting started, but once you're committed to vaping, it's time to get a glass tank.

some liquids like cinammon and citrus types are known to react noticeably with plastic tank material.
I'm sure there's lots more flavors that react much less noticeably.

Makes sense to get spare glass tubes/tanks:

There's also a smoktech pbc tank which is supposed to be glass on the inside with plastic on the outside.

And theres a few tanks that are glass with a metal outer jacket like the rg500, and I've seen another being called hypertank that looks similar

LOL! again i say....I LOVE YOU ALL! I really dislike all my tanks except the protech mini 3 i hate that one less than the others. They all seem to leak alot and i get oil in my mouth and thats so grose! and the first hit is usually good but then the rest are icky or have no taste. I loved smoking thats why i wouldnt quit, so when i found vaping i was super excited...its WAYYY better than smoking it flavored!!! like smoking candy!! i have the best of both worlds now,i dont have to quit smoking and i dont have people yellin at me to quit! but i see alot of people saying how much money was wasted learning how to do this...and i fear im on that path! 4 tanks all sucky! So now im stuck cuz im worried about buying more that suck but dont know what i like...only what i dont! Now im asking for help again but everyone has to play nice cuz yesterday it seemed i caused some tiny riots about evedyones opinion 8)

You might want to try moving to a carto tank....May look a little top heavy but no juice in the mouth and no leaking...check out baditude blogs...Ibtanked are not expensive if you don't customize.

Also, any money spent, wasted or not; is a thousand times better than a carton of cancer and lung disease or heart disease. Life is sometimes shorter than we want it to be. I am of the mind that we need not hasten it's end, if we can help it.

Hello my name is kelly and I'm extreamly new to vaping or e-cigs and even more to forums! (LOL I promise I'm alot more intelligent than I probably sound right now...or feel right now) I have some questions and it feels like the more I research or try and find answers I'm just ending up with more questions! I have an itaste clk 1280 with it I got a iclear 16 tank and a iclear 16d tank and really dislike them both (ALOT) so then I got a kangertech mini protank 3 which is ok but I would like somthing a little bigger, but I have no clue at all what's compatible I do have a beauty ring and from what I can figure out it will allow me to get somthing bigger? I also came across the provari and i will admit im kinda a impulse buyer and i absolutly loved the different totally awsome designs! (THEY HAVE ONE THAT GLOWS IN THE DARK!!!) But i dont know if its better than my itaste clk i dont want to end up spending more money and accidently downgrading. I'm sure by this time its become painfully obvious I have no clue what I'm doing so any help you can offer would be extreamly appreciated. Thank you for at least reading my crazy message! There are more questions i have but im gonna stop here and see if anyone in this forum is brave enough to take me on as a very challanging project! and just as a side note i have done alot of reading and research but since i have no freakin clue what most of the crazy vaping/e-cig words mean, im mostly just making myself more confused...so please please someone help me! thanx again im both excited and terrified to hear from someone!

I feel your pain...I have a clk 800, and not much of clue. Been vaping for a weeks. So I am eager to read all the responses. Good luck:)

Carto tanks are usually glass and glass is good for any kind of juice. Plastic (polycarbonate) cracks with some juices, glass does not. It is a cartridge that fits into the tank...

laser-drilled.jpg

Watch this video...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOhhasydESQ

The cartomizer has it's own coil in it...so when you change a carto (you only need to do this every so often by the way) you get a whole new coil. no fussing with atomizer heads. Cleaning involves removing the carto, washing and drying the glass tank, priming a new carto with juice (priming is adding juice to the inside of the carto, because you want it to not be dry inside) and then inserting the new primed carto into the tank and filling the tank.

and this Ocelot Full tank Carto Swap Video ....It will give you a picture of what we are talking about...

The Ocelet video is just to give you a picture of it...she is doing something fancy there. Not a normal tank setup. It shows what to do when you have a tank full of juice but need to change the carto.

Most times the tank will be empty, you will prime a carto, insert into tank and fill.

The Pbusardo vid shows a tank tool but it also shows him working with the carto tank.

A carto is an small atomizer coil shaped like this:
1445405-3.jpg

It screws onto the battery, and it contains both the coil and the flavor;

For a cartotank, you use a reuseable blank carto like this instead:
1363900-3.jpg

It comes with not liquid/flavor; instead, you put that into a carto tank, and fill the tank with liquid.

Yes you can use carto tanks, but you would need to get cartos; it's like you currently have tanks but you need to buy replacement atomizer heads;

With a cartotank/carto system, the carto (cartomizer) is the replacement atomozer head;

They cannot however be rewicked and/or rebuilt; when they go bad you toss them.

hello kelly i have been vaping for a whopping 3 weeks or so, and just like you i was totally confused, i watched youtube and learned alot. i purchased a rebel from vapor fi for my wife...i was hoping she would quit smoking...she hated it, so we bought her an aspire starter kit, she likes it and uses it to curb her smoking urges she is coming along with it...it uses the nautilus mini very easy to use no mess. and it comes with coils that even i can replace....i dropped the rebel, and it broke, so i went looking i was going to buy a provari, it looks great, with great reviews..i bought a dani extreme very much like a provari, and coast was about the same..i wanted something i wasnt goin to have to replace, i love it by the way, i only use the aspire, i got a full size nautilus with the mini coils...bdc or bvc i think it works great!! im looking for a rebuildable but not really sure about them yet still learning...my rule that i went by is you get what you pay for so i went expensive and got a great mod...there is a whole lot out there now im getting a mech mod.....again trying to figure things out, but i want to try one...but thats another story....my advice to you is go to a nice b&m ask questions and see what they recommend then look online for reviews....provari is very nice but find an owners manual first and see if you can make sense of it thats where i run into trouble, i had to learn the damn symbols if you think you really like vaping like i did then spend the money on a good quality device you will save money in the long run

You can use carto tanks for the kinds of juices that you vape. I think, and maybe I'm basis, you should get an Aspire Nautilus or mini Nautilus. I love mine. I also have some Beyond Vapes Silo Lites Beyond Vape Silo Lite Tank Kit [bv-silo-lit-tan-kit] - $15.00 : Beyond Vape, premium vaporizers and e-cigarettes that I use. Both are bottom coil tanks with adjustable airflow.

I read where you don't want to get into rebuilding either so tanks with adjustable airflow can give you that big vapor and big taste without the rebuilding. Hope that helps.

It can all be a bit overwhelming at first but it gets easier.
