Thanks for the link! I got one incoming, I have been looking for one in stock for a while. Checking ohms with a multimeter can be a pain. I got frustrated with my el cheapo meter and bought a high end data logging unit, still have the same issues, its hard to get a good stable reading on the small pieces of coil wire.

Out as well, never gonna get one of these.

Hmm....

Digital Cartomizer / Atomizer Resistance Tester (Ohm Meter)

Currently sold out. smoktek ships international. They have an easy "Notify When Back In Stock" option and it actually works. (A lot more than I can say about some places regarding that...)

ECDmeter

This is the Rolls Royce of meters. Will tell you anything you want to know about batteries and devices that connect to them. But it's obviously not one of those box style things. See the "Buy" page for how to get hold of this guy through several forums. He's located in Australia. I have one of these - well worth the price considering it can do it all.

had a mulitmeter, didn't like it

Ouch! To me the Liking or Not Liking of a multimeter is not relevant.

Safety is relevant. Testing to learn what might be "wrong" with a device is very relevant. Testing the battery voltage before and after charge is relevant and is rarely done and too frequently rarely recommended.

Don't like a multimeter? Too futzy, too ugly, too old school, the batteries run out, too cheap?

Please, don't forget that the Multi-meter is good for a Multi-amount of testing functions -- all geared toward safety.

Even if one uses other gadgets for the various functions, keep a multi-meter on hand as they don't do them all. Just ask any modder.

Your point is well taken :)
But I think mainly ease of use is the issue here.
I have fumbly fingers and I'm not the steadiest pole in the fence.
I have a Multimeter and it's okeedokee but I would like something that I can screw a device into that is steadier than I am.
I wonder who makes these things? They need to make more, more, more, lol
I wish I could get ahold of one...everytime someone gets them in stock they are gone within minutes.
Or when they come in I have no ca$h on hand, lol

Oh -- I like the gadgets, too. Bring me some more!

But---

Even if one uses other gadgets for the various functions, keep a multi-meter on hand as they don't do them all.

(I've used mine to see if it was the mod connection shorting (which certainly has occurred) and often to check the charge of a battery)

Yea, but have you ever tried to rebuild a BCC or atomizer or etc. on a Multmeter?

Greg W.

Missed my typo - Buy should have read But

However, Yes, all I use in building is my DVOM actually quick and easy once you are used to them. Can also check your batteries - wall sockets and help troubleshooting the Microwave when on the fritz.:D

ETA - typo fixed

I didnt say I don't test, I just said I don't use a multimeter(found them too clumsy and not steady), I do use the cartomizer/atomizer tester. dont know what I would do w/o it LOL

I have a multimeter and know how to use it. It works great for checking the volts on my batterys. BUT I can never get a good ohms reading on any of my atomizers. It just never EVER settles down to a reading. I mean a radical shifting number constantly even on factory made attys like cartos. THIS is why I want one of these little boxes. I need something foolproof aside from my vamo.
