I'm still dual-fuelling at the moment, but down to just 2-3 cigs a day most days.

What's happening now is that I'm forgetting how to smoke, especially since I purchased a subohm mod and tank and started DTL.

Just DTLd a Marlboro Light by mistake - head rush and ouch! Think I'm almost ready for the full switch!

I never dual used, much to my surprise.
I found that if I vaped just enough to give me the slightest hint of nausea, I couldn't stomach the idea of a cigarette.

I only tried one cigarette after my first proper vape, and I only managed to get through half of it because of the nicotine that was already in my system.

I think what I am trying to say is that if you're still dual using, you are either not vaping enough or you need stronger liquid for a while.

Do whatever is best for you...as far as how you go about getting totally off the smokes! The same methods don't work for everyone, because we're all different. How you switch and how quickly you do, isn't what matters in the longrun.

I smoked 1 - 1 1/2 PAD for 42+ years. Other methods of quitting that I'd tried had all failed for me. Getting down to 1/2 PAD and then slowly reducing the number of smokes I could have each week (while vaping at the same time), is what finally worked for me! The last week I smoked I was having just 1 per day and loved vaping the rest of the time. I had my absolute last one just shy of 2 months of first starting to vape and wean myself off the smokes altogether. Have never even wanted another 1 since then!

So, you keep going with whatever is helping you to get off the smokes. You'll get there when you're ready to, which sounds like not much longer, based on your post!

Not true, that is only your opinion. I've been dual using since august, it's not that easy for some people to just make the switch straight away. I admit I vaped for 4 years before August but before the 4 years I dual used too.

Yeah I guess it's different for everyone, I shouldn't have generalized.

I did feel like something was missing for the first three of four days, but I just gritted my teeth and put up with it until it went away.

Vaping enough to make me feel slightly nauseous helped a great deal with this though, which is the point I was trying to make.

There are other chemicals in tobacco that are addictive.
I have no doubt about this, and I believe that was what I felt was missing.

Vaping until I felt mildly nauseous physically prevented me from getting those other chemicals from tobacco, because I couldn't smoke a cigarette even if I wanted to.

The trick is to not wait until you have a craving, but vape as much as you can whenever you can until you feel like you did it a bit too much.

I did feel a little rough from all the nicotine for a few days, but I never smoked another cigarette.

I'm not saying it's going to be like this for everyone, just saying what worked for me.
Maybe it will help someone who is still struggling to make a complete switch.

Don't think I'll ever forget. Three years + vaping and still occasionally reach for a lighter when I put the drip tip to my lips. One of the reasons I know I need to keep stockpiling juice and gear.

Funny you said this just the other day while lighting the BBQ with a lighter I tried lighting my MOD. Realized it as I was lifting it towards the bottom of my iStick~!

Almost the exact opposite happened to me on Sunday.
My long barbecue lighter had run out of gas, so I rooted around in all the drawers in my house until I found a cigarette lighter.

I found that I had lost my technique and actually fumbled for a couple of seconds until I got it lit.

That's weird since I used to do it at least 20 times a day for 25 years :D

I still have lighters everywhere because I used to get free ones with a two pack purchase at the Red Barn. Never lost the touch and still reach in my pocket at times for a lighter that has always been there.

Yeah that's all I was trying to say but I'm not arguing don't worry I knew what you meant :)
& I definitely get what you mean bout it giving you a nausea and I have more or less quit, not had a cigarette today and I've nearly finished this tobacco pouch.
No more smokes after this cos when you think about it vaping is so much enjoyable an look at all the hobby aspects.

I am getting rid of all my lighters at end of week, don't want no tempation

For the first couple of weeks I carried half a pack of smokes around with me just in case, but I was so overdosed on nicotine that I couldn't bear the thought of smoking.

I really hope it works out for you this time. You seem to have made your mind up, which is definitely the most important step.

Take it from me, you will feel like something is missing, but the nicotine in the vape will take care of 90% of it.
That feeling lasts literally three days or so, so it's nothing you can't put up with if you have made up your mind.

Just vape like you never vaped before :)

Lighters serve many useful purposes for me so I will never get rid of them. For shrink tubing or lighting the BBQ to name a few. No temptation for me but my iStick would not have liked it if I heated the bottom plate! LOL
