I have no problem with laws against indoor smoking, although I don't necessarily buy the hysteria about second hand, let alone the new scare THIRD hand smoke

My niece was born with major resp. problems. The docs did tell us that we shouldn't even be near her if we'd just had a cig. Something about it being bad for her. I never figured out what the issue was but we obeyed. In general I wouldn't think it matters but in situations like that I get it.

... I think we have tried the rather heavy handed approach with cigarette's and lost that battle.
But it would seem there is a new hope, and that would be with vaping. Now i am not saying to sit down, roll over and take everything that is going on -- sure fight with the MP's you need to, get your voice heard, but on the same token when it comes to the general public maybe this time around a more gentle approach is needed. Instead of barging in where you want and getting the pv going, why not meet them half way?
This time 'round a little understand and compassion is going to go along way in winning the war ya know?

Compromise?

That's a Good Idea.

wanted to add my :2c:here.
it seems like it was only yesterday when the bans on smoking were being erected for public places such as mall's, restaurants, planes, grocery marts etc there was a call to arms on smokers uniting. We all did it, admit it. The harder a non smoker starter telling us about the "benefits of kicking the habit" the more we still reached for that stick and lit up, the more laws they tried to place they louder we spoke.
Look where it got us.......
Now with articles coming out in recent news about exploding batteries, or Man Arrested for Using Electronic Cigarette on Plane I think we have tried the rather heavy handed approach with cigarette's and lost that battle.

I am just getting really tired of when I am asked if I am smoking, and I explain to them that I am "vaping", and it is an electronic cigarette. Their next question is " Yea, but won't that explode and blow your face off?" Thank you for over-hyping everything major media!!!!

Yea, I agree. Even my own friends have pulled this on me, despite my telling them over and over the deal on this and how some people will stack batteries, and do things to their e-cig that can be dangerous (that I do not do). I feel like I might as well be talking to the wall sometimes.
