All flavors were direct dripped onto a 901 atty hooked into my 5V PT. The atty was blown out and then dry burned between flavors. Once the non-samplers get some time to rest a bit, I’ll give them a try on both the atty (5v) and a carto (3.7 KR808) and report back on any changes to flavor
Butterscotch Almond:
24mg 50/50 Sampler
Unlike my previous Butterscotch Almond, this is more of a tangerine-colored liquid. The butterscotch scent in strong when you smell the bottle but is a bit more muted on inhale. It’s a nice, mellow butterscotch on the inhale with a slight taste of almond. Exhale is where the butterscotch flavor definitely comes out. I think my first batch of BA didn’t have enough butterscotch mixed in and David and Pam have offered to replace it after a quick phone call once I noticed the color differences between my steeped BA and the sampler sent. This has a strong sweet flavor that lingers in your mouth and would make a great dessert vape. For anyone that got a sample from me, please PM me so I can also replace your sample. Great vapor on this one and a pretty decent TH.
Final verdict: 8/10 - it’s a bit too sweet for me to use as an all day vape but it would certainly offer a nice change of pace
Chocolate Banana:
24mg 50/50 Sampler
This is a transparent caramel-colored liquid. I mostly smell chocolate when I whiff the liquid before vaping. Upon vaping, the taste of banana definitely comes through with the chocolate but is most noticeably on the exhale. The chocolate is actually more muted in this one as well but it’s certainly there. It’s probably one of the more perfect blends I’ve had and neither flavor overpowers the other. The banana is more of a blend of a candy flavor and a fruit flavor. Were I a chocolate covered banana fan, I could see this one rapidly joining my repertoire of flavors. Vapor production is great and TH is fairly light.
Final verdict: 8/10 - I have to give the flavors their due. They taste like a chocolate covered banana. Just because I’m not a fan doesn’t mean this isn’t a darned tasty vape. If anything, I’d ask for a doubler of the flavor to make it really pop.
Cappuccino Smooth:
24mg 50/50 Sampler
This is another transparent caramel-colored liquid. This smells like caramel when I whiff the liquid before vaping. There’s actually very little coffee smell. Once you vape it, though, you definitely pick up the coffee. It’s as the name implies, a smooth coffee flavor. It does mimic cappuccino rather perfectly. Not too strong a coffee flavor with a little taste of cream on the inhale. On the exhale you get stronger coffee, that touch of cream and a very little sweetness with a slight coffee bitterness in the undertone. This is a very rich flavor and coffee lovers should really like this vape. Personally, if I have any more coffee in my life, my blood will turn black. Plus, for some reason, I want another flavor with my coffee in this one. Maybe vanilla, maybe caramel…maybe I’ll make my own mix! Vapor production is great, once again. TH is pretty minimal for me.
Final verdict: 9/10 This is a very nice, extremely smooth vape that just reminds me of coffeehouse brewed cappuccino prior to adding sugar or any other flavoring. I still want another flavor with it but that’s another Satharra-ism. I really love me some French Vanilla Cappuccino with two packets of sugar. You hear that, David?
Caramel Cream:
24mg 50/50 Sampler
Well, anyone who knows me knows I hate creamy flavors. They all taste like burnt milk to me and that just isn’t a flavor I want to vape. Blech! Evidently I haven’t tried the right creams or maybe it’s just this flavor. Beats me but boy was this good! Inhaling the juice prior to filling is strongly caramel. It reminds me greatly of caramel sauce you put on ice cream, in fact, and I’m tempted to just leave the bottle open in my office so my entire office smells like caramel. Alas, I screw the top back on after filling and start vaping. This is definitely caramel but it is a very creamy caramel very akin to the caramel flavored candies you can buy. Not quite as caramel-y as the chews but darned close. In fact, if you want to approximate Brach’s caramel chews, double the flavor and you’ll be darned close. Vapor production was, as expected, and the TH is very mild. I couldn’t help myself and mixed a little of this with the cappucinno smooth and would’ve quickly put an end to both bottles if allowed.
Final verdict: 9.5/10 Why not a perfect score if it’s so good? Because I want double the flavor on this one. It’s, once again, a very smooth, pleasureable vape. It’s sweet but that’s to be expected out of caramel. Personally, this is probably too rich for me for an all day vape but it certainly would stop any sweet cravings I have faster than an FDA cease and desist letter.
Thin Mint Cookie:
24mg 50/50 Sampler
This is a darker brown but transparent liquid. Smell-wise, prior to vaping, it reminded me greatly of an andes mint. Upon vaping, I was immediately struck by the peppermint flavor with a very slight chocolate undertone. Exhale revealed more of a dark chocolate flavor intermingled with that strong peppermint. I did not pick up any cookie flavor. It actually reminded me more of a peppermint patty than a thin mint cookie. It’s a good flavor and not overly sweet. TH seemed pretty strong. This one definitely tickles the tonsils. For some reason, the vapor production on this one seemed a bit thicker than the others. I kept spitting out vapor long after some of the others. My, what big lungs you have, Satharra. That must be why my husband eyeballs my chest, lung envy!
A word of warning to atty users, this is a very, very strong flavor. It will cling to your atty like an accountant to his spreadsheets (I can say this because, well, I married a spreadsheet lover) so be prepared to rinse and dry burn a bit to get the flavor out.
Final verdict: 8.5/10 It’s a good flavor but I can’t really taste the cookie part. That being said, it’s been a long time since I’ve had a thin mint cookie and I’ve never particularly cared for them. I actually prefer this peppermint paddy flavor. Overall, if you like mint with a hint of chocolate, I think you’ll like this flavor.
Strawberry Twist:
24mg 50/50 Sampler
So the description on FSUSA’s site says that this is a strawberry coconut flavor which has pretty much kept me from ordering this. I’m not a fan of coconut and, while I don’t mind it if it’s really muted in a Pina Colada, I won’t order coconut just to be ordering it. As a child I had some really bad allergic reactions to coconut and have learned to associate the flavor with my throat closing up. That being said, I halfway cringed as I was trying this. I took a really good smell before I started to make sure I didn’t detect any coconut in the odor and then tentatively dripped it onto my atty.
I took a decent puff and waited and waited and waited…then I inhaled and just as quickly exhaled. I sat there for a few moments waiting for that coconut to show up in the flavor. Heck, I could’ve waited all day. I didn’t taste a bit of coconut. Not one bit. I tasted strawberry creamsavers - rich, delectable strawberry creamsavers. Yep, those little wrapped candies of love and happiness. So I took another longer pull and inhaled before slowly exhaling. Yep, strawberry; no coconut. Just pure strawberry creamsaver goodness.
Final verdict: 10/10 This is just a stellar flavor. I’m actually quite tempted to take this and mix it with my Pina Colada for a Strawberry Colada. It’s not overly sweet but does give a little hit to those sweet cravings. This could definitely become a daily vape for me. In fact, I’ve already placed another order to get this one in my juice retinue.
CoffeeX:
30mg 50/50 60ml bottle
This is a 60ml bottle and certainly hasn’t had the steep time that the others have had. As such, I expected a really, really strong flavor. In addition, I got this for a friend to replace some juices he had misordered and he generously told me to take a bit to try for myself so the nicotine is way higher than I typically vape. But being a frugal sort how could I turn down free juice? That’d be sacrilege!
I was actually a little afraid of this flavor just based on the smell. It has a very, very strong coffee smell more reminiscent of a double espresso than just a coffee. I knew I was going to take one heck of a hit trying this (both from the nic level and the smell) and I wasn’t at all disappointed. It is one heck of a strong coffee flavor. Now, I love my coffee and typically go through 2 pots a day but if I ever made coffee this strong I’d be able to sprint the 30 miles to work. I’m not sure if it was the nicotine or the perceived caffeine in the flavor but this one hit me, hit me hard, then took my lunch money.
Once I picked myself off the carpet, I got back to sorting through the flavors. This is not Starbucks coffee (which to me tastes like burnt beans brewed in a defensive tackle’s 2 week old sweat sock). This tastes just like freshly roasted coffee beans strongly brewed. It’s not as smooth as Kona coffee but more like a Sumatran blend of some sort. The throat hit is medium and the vapor is very good. This one also likes to cling to the atty and may require extraordinary measures to tear it from it’s now-preferred domicile.
Final verdict: 9.5/10 This is darned tasty and, if I didn’t think it might confuse my body into thinking it had six times my normal daily caffeine intake, I might consider buying myself a big bottle. As is, there’s no way I could handle this as a daily vape. I think my blood might start flowing black. For me, I need some creamer and sugar for this badboy. If you want a vape to scream, “I am coffee! Feel me roar!” this is the stuff for you.
Hopscotch:
18mg 50/50 60ml
Again, this is a brand new, hand-mixed bottle without steep time. Over time the flavors should mellow but I always want a disclaimer at the start. This liquid is a transparent gold color. Initial wafting of the opened bottle revealed a strong caramel and butterscotch flavor, reminiscent of Werther’s. It’s nearly a butter rum minus the rum when you first smell it. Personally, I’ve never had anything called a Hopscotch so this title was alien to me. (Site says a mixture of caramel, creams, and butterscotch and my nose says that’s precisely what I got.)
The inhale is pretty mild. You pick up a bit of rich caramel and a little cream melded with butterscotch. It’s a really nice blend. The exhale is sweet with a far stronger creamy butterscotch flavor. If there were a butter rum flavored chew, this would be it. Overall, however, the flavor is pretty light. Remember, I hate creams. There was no burnt milk flavor here at all. Just a rich creaminess. There is a very light TH with this one and pretty decent vapor. This one should make for some great stealth vaping.
Final verdict: 9/10 I’ve been watching and waiting for this one. I realize that FlavourArt doesn’t make a butter rum but I kept hoping David would work his magic and get darned close to one. Well, folks, I think he’s done it. This is a nice, light creamy butterscotch/caramel that isn’t too heavy or lingering. It seems like a thinner liquid than other butter rums I’ve tried so it should be less likely to clog a carto. I’m still going to let it steep a bit before trying it on a carto but I have high hopes that the flavor will only get better. Depending on how this one ages, the only thing I might do is double the flavor.
I also ordered my beloved Hawaiian Tropical. I love this stuff. It's my daily vape. Will any of these flavors usurp it from it's hallowed throne? Strawberry Twist stands a heck of a chance. More than likely ST will join my daily flavor rotation very soon but the others don't particularly appeal to my current tastes. However, I am female and by right of ovaries (and the lovely hormones they produce) I can change direction on a whim.
