OK... NOOB wreaking havoc here. Started w/ VOLT cig-alikes about a month ago. Fine for a starter kit, but the batteries need to be charged too often. And those cartomizers are awful. SO, I purchased two designer eGO 1100 mah batts from Vapor Girl and some clearos (Kanger T2s & CE5s). Like those fine. I chose these batts cuz they were pretty. :) Then also bought some Boge 510 LR single coil cartos and a couple of IBT 19mm tanks. Thinking I'd be good to go.
I did fine w/ the clears, but my attempt at cartos & tanks was dismal and short-lived. Best I can tell, I punched the carto wrong and shorted out the carto and thus shorted out my eGO batts. The eGOs are dead.
SO... when back in stock, I will replace the eGOs from vaporgirl. HOWEV, in my opinion, there is probably great likelihood that one day I will blow these batts up again. So I probably need to have another set of something else semi-comparable.

Obviously, I probably should keep this as simple as possible. I sincerely doubt that I am ready for anything VV or VW. DIY does not seem to be my strong suit. I just need to be able to push a button and go. And, I will buy pre-punched cartos in the future!

I prefer a cooler vape.
I prefer to use cartos/tanks or clearos, and want batts that work with what I already have.
I like for things to be uniform in diameter size.
And I'd probably rather have nice metals than colors. (my fav eGO batts from VG are the embossed silver Celtic and the hammered copper)

SO... I'm looking for something that is aesthetically pleasing, similar to eGO in size and charge usage time, user friendly, and not dangerous.

I am open to suggestions from those more experienced. Links to same and pix VERY helpful.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Why not just grab an Ego Twist or Vision Spinner? Once you go variable voltage you will never go back to a standard Ego. This way, you get a new device that you most likely will feel is an improvement and you don't really have to change anything.

Both the twist and spinner will work on your current Ego charger. The twist maintains the same diameter as a normal ego, just longer. The spinner is shorter compared to a twist 1100mah but is a tad bit thicker. (I think the spinner fells better in my hands personally). Both will work and look good with your current collection of cartos and clearos.

I mean ... you wouldn't even HAVE to use the VV if you don't want to but I believe you WILL once you see how easy it is and the improvements it provides. Simply twist ... taste ... twist ... taste .... until you find the best tasting setting. Very simple yet can make a world of difference.

Just so you know though, you will surely move on to mods eventually. (Nearly everyone does).

Repl. batt. mods = twice the price but you can replace the batts so 2 to 3 times the longevity, possibly more. Worth the investment and if you pick a form (18350, 18650, etc) you can just buy a bunch of em and a charger and have 3 or 4 diff't mods to use w/ em.

If u get a vv ego or spinner it'll break or die within 6 months, a year at most whereas a mod if it dies you can still use the batts and charger and just pick up a new one - there's mech mods that take 18350 batts that are $15 and will last 10 years. My advice for what it's worth anyway... Plus you'll get there eventually anyway lol, if ur on this forum and posting, chances are you'll eventually own at least 2 mods...

If you decide to go the mod route now and save some money ... 14500 mods will get you in the general size of an ego. You're not going to get as much power or battery life as the bigger mods but some people actually prefer the size of 14500 mods.

If you don't want VV/VW, a good 14500 mod that's cheap I could recommend is the VP2 from Vaprlife with the 510 connection.

Hi Natasha. I Think the VGirl egos are knockoffs. Original Joye products have protection circuits, they last me a long time.

The Upgrade model will allow you to vape cool (3.4) or warmer (3.7). They come in nice colors like the Bronze also. Or you can use wraps. I get mine at Cignot.

There's a thread on here somewhere for dressed up ego fans.

Alright... w/ VV do I have to have ANY concern as to again shorting out my Boge single coil LR cartos? Crap... I toasted a freaking ego. I just don't want to buy some adjustable something and blow stuff up....

OK, I'll check out cignot.. thank you. And perhaps re-think the VG egos... as I don't like or buy knock-off anything.
RE: your siggy... can you explain to me as to "battery case" and saving my purse? I have a few bags I'd rather not destroy.

Probably won't but if it does short or u drop it (which I did and my spinner cracked in half) that's it, game over time to buy a new one. Replaceable batt mods give you much more options, longevity and ul save $ in the long run (and ul get there eventually anyway and be happier). All I have to say about this - up to you. btw I still use my riva 650mah batt sometimes so a couple backups can't hurt but like I said, everyone takes the same steps and ur progression will lead u to mods soon enough anyway.

I'm pretty sure legit Egos (and the vision spinners) have short-circuit protection. Been awhile though so I'm not 100% sure ... not to mention it's possible that the protection could become faulty (which should render the device useless).

Chances of a catastrophic battery failure is pretty slim, especially if you keep your devices off while carrying them around. Just inspect the battery if you ever drop your pv and ensure there is no visual damage to the battery like swelling or bubbling.

Nothing against VG. Maybe you can go back to her after you get your safety issues down :).

The battery cases are sold for people to keep their loose batteries in, like Vamo/mod batteries. You're safer with egos, but if you wanted to get a LIPO safety bag, that would be fine.

Loosening/removing your carto or using the 5click off feature for your egos should be fine. Putting your tank in a pill bottle will keep it from spilling in your purse, or leaking into your ego.

Ok got it... just wanted to make sure there was not something I was missing here.

VG batts are just CUTE... I really like the metal ones. But, if they are not SAFE, I don't want them.

    OK... narrowed down my choices....

VAMO VAMO Rev.2 Variable Power (adjustable wattage), Variable Voltage APV - Chrome

    SQUIRE TUBE http://www.smokerevolt.com/18350MiniTube

    eGO TWIST https://www.cignot.com/product_p/egc-tw1-all.htm

VISION SPINNER Vision Spinner Variable Voltage 1300mAh eGo Battery

Those seem to be my top 4 choices of all that I've looked at online. I have some thinking to do.

Are there any obvious negatives w/ any of these 4 choices?

Everyone's input is MUCH APPRECIATED, whether it is agreement w/ one another or not.

They are quite nice. Maybe the pre-punched for awhile will keep you safe with them. I think the carto punches with the thick screw don't allow the hole to go in to deep like a saddle valve.

Other than carto shorts, you have to keep the juice off of the switch and the battery post area.

Just don't give up, you'll be a pro in no time:).

The Vamo is going to "hit" the hardest ... as it is a regulated device and will give you consistent voltage while firing with the ability to scale voltage/wattage up and down. I've owned one for nearly 6 months and it's definitely a highly recommended device by many people. Solid build quality, accurate regulation, great menu system, can use 18650 or the smaller 18350 batteries, and it's HIGHLY affordable for what it does.

Out of what you listed, it's the best "all around device" on the list IMHO. The Squire is a nice little 18350 standard voltage mod though and considering it's cost might be worth purchasing as a backup.
